No injuries

EXCELSIOR - Two Ashland residents escaped injury Saturday in a one-vehicle crash on Route 901 in Coal Township.

John Monterosso Jr., 60, was driving a 2001 Ford Escort east about 2:50 p.m. when he drove over a patch of ice while rounding a curve, causing him to lose control, according to Patrolman Jason Adams.

The vehicle exited the south berm, struck a tree and became stuck in a ditch.

Traveling with Monterosso was Tina Ennis, 58. The vehicle was towed.

Motel theft

VALLEY TOWNSHIP - State police at Milton report someone forcibly entered the former Days Inn motel on Sheraton Road, Valley Township, by prying open a back door sometime between Dec. 13 and Dec. 20. The thieves removed 13 32-inch flat screen televisions, four security cameras, 100 yards of commercial grade carpet and 75 feet of copper piping.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact state police at Milton at 570-524-2662.

Vehicle burglary

COAL TOWNSHIP - Andre Jarrell, 31, of 1746 Tioga St., told Coal Township police that his wallet, the face plate of his vehicle's CD player and an Xbox controller were stolen from his vehicle between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 a.m. Monday. The vehicle was parked in front of his home. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-644-0333.

Window broken

COAL TOWNSHIP - Glen Kreisher, 60, of 1201 E. Webster St., told Coal Township police a first-floor window at his home was broken between 10 p.m. Friday and 5:45 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-644-0333.
