Theft investigation
KULPMONT - The Kulpmont Police Department is investigating a theft of $20,000 cash from a home at 1018 Scott St. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 570-373-1522.
Driving under suspension
LOCUST GAP - Ronald W. Goepfert, 33, of Shamokin, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski with false identification to police, driving under suspension, speeding and failing to properly fasten a young child in a booster seat.
The charges relate to a Nov. 11 incident along Route 901 in Locust Gap.
DUI offenses
MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Filarski has charged Michael J. Allem, 51, of Pennsburg, with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and driving at an unsafe speed involving a May 10 traffic stop at the intersection of Routes 2034 and 54.
Police reported marijuana, cocaine, metabolites and cyclobenzaprine were found in Allem's blood system.
Public drunkenness
MOUNT CARMEL - Shane D. Long, 22, of 514 E. Fifth St., was cited for public drunkenness by Patrolman Matthew Dillman. Police said Long was intoxicated and vomiting about 3:30 a.m. Nov. 1 in the first block of North Oak Street.
False alarms
MOUNT CARMEL - Nicholas Rodriguez, 43, of 412 S. Market St., was cited both Nov. 1 and Nov. 11 for allowing his home alarm to repeatedly auto dial emergency services, according to police. The citations were filed by Lt. Christopher Buhay and Patrolman Matthew Dillman.
Dog at large
MOUNT CARMEL - Joseph L. Pearson, 70, of 217 E. Avenue, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay with dogs running at large for allegedly allowing his dog to run free about 11:30 a.m. Nov. 2.
Disorderly behavior
MOUNT CARMEL - A 15-year-old Ashland male was cited with disorderly conduct by Cpl. David Donkochik for a disturbance at Fourth and Willow streets about 8 p.m. Oct. 30.
Punches vehicle
MOUNT CARMEL - Zachary J. McGinley, 25, of 219 S. Chestnut St., was cited with criminal mischief by Patrolman Justin Stelma. Police said he punched and damaged a vehicle owned by Jarad Smith about 1 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 200 block of South Market Street.
Theft citation
MOUNT CARMEL - Wilburn H. Denman, 46, of 50 N. Maple St., was cited with retail theft by Patrolman Justin Stelma. Police said he stole $13.99 in merchandise from Scicchitano Ace Hardware about 11 a.m. Nov. 11.
Dumps trash
MOUNT CARMEL - Marie E. McWilliams, 25, of 309 N. Maple St., was cited for scattering rubbish by Patrolman Justin Stelma. Police said she dumped household trash near Fourth and Oak streets about 8 a.m. Nov. 17.
Kids fight
MOUNT CARMEL - Boys 12 and 14 years old from Mount Carmel were cited by Patrolman Justin Stelma with harassment for hitting each other about 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6.
Smashes items
MOUNT CARMEL - James Alexander Johnson, 29, was cited with harassment by Chief Todd Owens. Police said he smashed items inside 106 W. Avenue about 12:45 p.m. Nov. 4, and grabbed the arm of his girlfriend, 30-year-old Sarah Jane Williams, causing bruising.
Driver cited
COAL TOWNSHIP - Jennifer L. Roth, 46, of 621 W. Pine St., Shamokin, was cited by Coal Township police for operating a 1993 Chevy truck without valid insurance coverage relating to an Oct. 31 accident on School House Lane near Kemp Memorial Stadium.
Police said Roth was traveling east when her truck struck a 2013 Toyota sedan operated by Kenneth Yoder, 63, of 213 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, as Yoder was in the stadium parking lot waiting to pull onto School House Lane.
No injuries were reported and no towing was required.
