Fugitive caught
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington report that a fugitive from Missouri was captured Wednesday on a traffic stop on the Veterans Memorial Bridge near Sunbury.
Police report Jerry Gene Sanders Jr., 33, of Selinsgrove, was stopped for a traffic violation on the bridge at 1:06 p.m. Wednesday. A check of his identification showed that he was wanted in Missouri on two felony warrants.
The warrants were confirmed and Sanders was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum, of Sunbury, and placed in Northumberland County Prison awaiting extradition.
Burglary
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Beth Collins, of Coal Township, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between Sept. 13 and Oct. 1., someone entered her pop-up camper at the Nikomahs Campground in Upper Augusta Township and removed a portable stove and miscellaneous food items.
Scattering rubbish
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Michael D. Ditty, 64, of 2846 Hallowing Run Road, Sunbury, was charged by state police at Stonington with scattering rubbish after allegedly intentionally dumping a bag of garbage on Hallowing Run Road at the intersection with Dornsife Mountain Road at 8:11 a.m. Thursday.
