Phone scam
DALMATIA - State police at Lykens are warning the public about a phone scam that cost a local woman thousands of dollars.
Police said the victim, Mary R. Schaffner, 75, of Dalmatia, received a phone call from a male with a Jamaican accent who informed her she won $5.5 million in the Mega Millions sweepstakes. Between Sept. 19 and 24, Schaffner wired several money orders totaling $2,899 to pay for the taxes and other fees to claim her winnings.

Underage drinking
SHAMOKIN - A 15-year-old Coal Township male, a 16-year-old Shamokin female and a 17-year-old Shamokin male were cited by Shamokin Police Chief Darwin Tobias III for underage drinking and violating the city's curfew ordinance after being found in the 00 block of West Dewart Street at 1:28 a.m. Sept. 25.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Brian K. Donner, 30, of 916 E. Chestnut St., was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following an incident at Independence and Shamokin streets at 11 p.m. Sept. 22.
Shamokin Police Patrolman Raymond Siko II said Donner was found walking in the middle of the intersection, causing traffic to swerve around him.
Public drunkenness
SHAMOKIN - City police Patrolman Mark Costa cited Jarrod Moyle, 40, of 401 N. Rock St., for public drunkenness after being found lying in the street at Water and Rock streets at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 23.
Harassment
SHAMOKIN - Police charged Tabitha Leiby, 23, of 57 Raspberry Hill, with harassment after she allegedly hit another individual in the face twice at her residence at 11 a.m. Aug. 28.
Code violations
SHAMOKIN - City police Cpl. Bryan Primerano cited the following individuals for violating Shamokin City's building codes:
- Anthony M. Venturino, 33, of 150 Bear Path Road, Hamden, Conn., cited Sept. 17 and Sept. 22 for his building at 663 Bear Valley Ave.
- Jhoel Leonardo, of 13201 95th St., South Richmond Hill, N.Y., cited Sept. 25 for his property at 625-627 E. Commerce St.
- Miguel Gonzalez, of 441 18th St., Brooklyn, N.Y., cited Sept. 25 for his property at 415 S. Market St.
