DUI crash
ELYSBURG - Joshua M. Emerick, 31, of Williamsport, was charged by Ralpho Township Patrolman Chris Dailey with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of failure to drive in a single lane involving an April 27 one-vehicle accident along Route 54 near Dave's Flowers.
Emerick, who was ejected from his black Mazda after it went over an embankment, suffered injuries in the crash and underwent emergency room treatment at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Police said he had a blood-alcohol content of .231 percent.
Multiple offenses
SHAMOKIN - Kenneth Elliott Jr., 24, of 1222 W. Willow St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with criminal mischief, simple assault, harassment and two counts of disorderly conduct involving an Aug. 17 disturbance at Fifth and Boyd streets.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Elliott is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Jessica Kodack, inside a pickup truck and causing approximately $5,000 in damage to the truck, which is owned by Stephen Motyka.
Kodack suffered redness on her face and bruises to her right upper arm and left knee that required her to be transported to a hospital for additional treatment.
Police said Elliott smashed the front and back windows on the truck, damaged the steering column, snapped off the gear shift, stood on the hood, causing dents, ripped the glove box from the dash board, pulled the rear view mirror off the front window and damaged the seats.
DUI offenses
SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Scott Weaver charged Jeffrey S. Cosgrove, 48, of 165 Coal Run Road, Coal Township, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing or attempting to elude police, operating an ATV on a street, three stop sign violations, careless driving and trespass by motor vehicle.
The charges relate to incidents that began at approximately 1:40 a.m. Aug. 17 when police spotted Cosgrove driving an ATV north on Shamokin Street near Independence Street. Police said Cosgrove traveled through a stop sign at that intersection before going through two more stop signs at Franklin and Commerce streets and Mount Carmel and Commerce streets.
Police said Cosgrove then fled onto Route 61 into Coal Township at a high rate of speed while failing to comply with three requests by police to pull over. Police said Cosgrove eventually turned off the berm and traveled into a private lot that was blocked off for vehicles and went over a steep embankment before losing control and crashing.
Cosgrove consented to a blood test that revealed a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent, police said.
DUI offenses
THARPTOWN - Stacy Jo Mantz, 38, of 1005 N. Pearl St., Shamokin, was charged by Trooper Justin Rosboschil of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, driving without a license, failure to exhibit a driver's license on demand, driving under suspension, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to drive in a single lane, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and failing to wear a seat belt.
The offenses relate to an Aug. 17 traffic stop at the intersection of Hospital Road and Route 61 at Tharptown.
Police said Mantz had a blood-alcohol content of .094 percent.
Hit and run
SHAMOKIN - Robert R. Clark, 53, of 626 W. Pine St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with hit and run and limitations on backing involving an Aug. 22 accident at the drive-through ATM at M&T Bank.
Multiple charges
SHAMOKIN - Robert Joseph Clark, 24, of 626 W. Pine St., Shamokin, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with multiple offenses involving two incidents in the city.
Clark is charged with harassment for allegedly threatening to kill Marlin Koons on two occasions via text messages Aug. 30 at 604 W. Mulberry St.
Clark also faces charges of limitations on backing, failure to give information and render aid at an accident and hit and run relating to an Aug. 26 accident in the first block of West Independence Street.
Drug paraphernalia
SHAMOKIN - Brianna Hanford, 21, of 1002 1/2 E. Chestnut St., Sunbury, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police reported Hanford possessed a gold pipe used to smoke marijuana/Spice. Police said the pipe contained burnt residue.
The pipe was found in Hanford's vehicle July 20 in the 400 block of North Shamokin Street.
DUI offenses
ELYSBURG - Ralpho Township Patrolman Chris Grow has charged Kenneth Horvath, 50, of 350 Rushtown Road, Danville, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to use his turn signal involving a Dec. 4 traffic stop at the intersection of Route 487 and Bottle Drive.
Police reported Horvath had a blood-alcohol content of .162 percent.
DUI
MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Filarski has charged Zachary T. Swisher, 24, of Montoursville, with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Police said Swisher was found under the influence of Delta-9 THC, Delta-9 Carboxy and Hydroxy Delta-9 THC and also had soda bottle caps, tweezers with residue and sandwich baggies containing a small amount of marijuana on his possession when stopped during a sobriety checkpoint July 21 on Route 901 in Mount Carmel Township.
Charges dismissed
MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, theft and receiving stolen property filed by Mount Carmel Patrolman Justin Stelma against Casey Sue Kern, 27, of 137 W. Third St., Mount Carmel, were dismissed Sept. 3 by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones after the victim failed to appear for a hearing.
Kern was charged with stealing 30 Xanax tablets and 52 Vicodin pills belonging to her mother, Patricia Wright, on June 11.
Driver charged
ATLAS - Christina S. Snyder, 33, of 254 W. Saylor St., Atlas, has been charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell with driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock system involving an Aug. 24 vehicle stop on Route 61 near the Pine Burr Inn.
