SHAMOKIN - The following defendants entered guilty pleas or had charges withdrawn or dismissed during preliminary hearings Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III:

n Zackery D. Hayes, 18, of 40 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty in separate cases to two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He must serve a consecutive sentence of one year supervised probation and pay $400 in fines plus court costs. One count of possession of heroin was withdrawn. City Cpl. Bryan Primerano filed the charges. Hayes allegedly possessed a heroin wrapper at his home June 29 and drug paraphernalia and heroin June 30 at the Shamokin police station.

n Lucas Krankowski, 35, of 1701 W. Independence St., Coal Township, pleased guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to one year supervised probation and issued a $300 fine plus court costs. A charge of driving with a suspended license was withdrawn. City Patrolman Raymond Siko II arrested Krankowski July 3.

n Jesika L. McCann, 22, of Pearl Street, Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to one year supervised probation and issued a $200 fine plus court costs. One count of possession of synthetic marijuana was withdrawn. Coal Township Cpl. Joshua Wynn arrested McCann June 28 on Big Mountain Road, where she was allegedly found in possession of a smoking pipe and "spice."

n Victoria Pappas, of Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct engage in fighting. She was sentenced to one year supervised probation and was issued a $200 fine plus court costs. Charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn. City Patrolman Raymond Siko II filed the charged Aug. 9.

n Glen A. Shurock Jr., 21, of 815 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to one year supervised probation and was issued a $200 fine plus court costs. Charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn. Shurock was accused by Coal Township Cpl. Joshua Wynn of attempting to strike a 16-year-old male and biting the juvenile's shoulder May 15 at 1778 W. Chestnut St.

Charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct filed against Shurock by city Patrolman Raymond Siko II were withdrawn. The charges were also related to an incident May 15.

n Charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment were dismissed against Andre Stone, 32, of 612 E. Commerce St., Shamokin. Cpl. Bryan Primerano filed the charges June 16. Stone was accused of entering the home of Johna Swank, of 668 Bear Valley Ave., without permission and assaulting a 14-year-old.
