Driver treated, released
COAL TOWNSHIP - The man injured in a two-car collision that occurred around noon Wednesday on Route 61 just east of Shamokin has been identified as Anthony Zulkowski Jr., 33, of 40 S. Anthracite St., Shamokin.
Zulkowski suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries when his Ford F-150 truck collided with the cement divider after being struck broadside by a beige Chevrolet Equinox driven by Lewis Anthony Jordan, who was attempting to change lanes.
Coal Township police said Zulkowski was taken to Shamokin-Geisinger Area Community Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Guilty plea
MOUNT CARMEL - Chad M. Neiman, 28, of 716 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Wednesday to disorderly conduct and driving under suspension and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to pay a $700 fine plus costs.
Additional charges of flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, driving without a license, speeding and careless driving were withdrawn.
Neiman was charged by Kulpmont Patrolman Joshua Pastucka in connection with a July 11 incident at Second and Chestnut streets.
