City police said at 10:25 p.m., an unidentified juvenile male came to the police station and reported he was assaulted by Gillingbauer in the area of Independence and Orange streets. The male said he was on his way home when he was approached by Gilligbauer. Gilligbauer alleged that the male had kissed his girlfriend. The male said Gilligbauer punched him in the face and head several times, knocking him to the ground. The youth further claimed that while he was on the ground, he was kicked in the head by Gilligbauer. Police noted an abrasion and bleeding to the victim's right eye.

Police said later, at 10:31 p.m., Gilligbauer became involved in a fight that was already under way. According to police, Sabrina Maisey and Ashley Russell were engaged in a fight and Andrew Hartzell attempted to break up the fight by holding Russell. He said he was then grabbed from behind by Gilligbauer, who police said is Russell's boyfriend. Gilligbauer told the officer regarding the first incident that the male deserved the beating because "the kid had a smart mouth." Police said Gilligbauer failed to show up at the police station to be interviewed.
