ANTHONY TOWNSHIP - Two people, including a Mount Carmel man, suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 7 p.m. Thursday along Route 54 (Continental Boulevard) in this Montour County township.

State police at Milton reported Ronald H. Moore Jr., 54, of Bloomsburg, was driving a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser in the westbound lane of Route 54 when he turned left in an attempt to access Strict Road. Police said the front of a 2013 Ford E-250 van operated by Jeremy J. Walthes, 52, of Mount Carmel, who was traveling east, struck the passenger side door of Moore's car, causing it to travel approximately 150 feet in a circle before coming to rest in a driveway about 10 feet north of the road. After impact, the van traveled approximately 45 feet east before coming to a halt parallel to the highway on an embankment.

Police said Moore and Walthes, who were both wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries and were transported by Danville Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Moore was cited by Trooper Mark Evans for a left turn violation.
