DUI offenses

RUSH TOWNSHIP - Melissa Marie Laubaugh, 33, of 14 E. Mill St., Elysburg, was charged by Trooper David Townsend of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the welfare of children, driving under suspension, careless driving, reckless driving and using high beams when approaching a vehicle.

The charges relate to a Nov. 28 incident on Route 54 near Crest Haven Market.

Police said Laubaugh had a blood-alcohol content of .113 percent while driving with three children in the vehicle who were 11 years old, 21 months old and 14 months old at the time.

Simple assault

KULPMONT - Charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment were filed by Patrolman Patrick McAndrew against Megan Inez Miller, 35, of 1448 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, involving a May 10 disturbance at her home.

According to a criminal complaint, Miller is accused of pushing and hitting her boyfriend, Edward F. Shandis, scratching the left side of his neck and biting him in the face.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Desiree A. Garancosky, 24, of 601 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, and Nicole J. Ramph, 23, of 107 N. Sixth St., Kulpmont, were charged by Patrolman Terry Ketchem Jr. with retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft.

Police reported the two women are accused of stealing $289.52 in merchandise from Walmart Supercenter on Route 61 May 1.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Adam L. Moore, 29, of 229 W. Sunbury St., Shamokin, was charged by Chief of Police Darwin Tobias III with disorderly conduct for causing a disturbance outside his residence May 9 by attempting to fight with another male and chasing people with a board.

Moore also is accused of smashing items inside 233 W. Sunbury St.

Police said the disturbances occurred at about 11 a.m.

DUI

TREVORTON - Adam Michael Shingara, 24, of 1711 Sunshine Road, Shamokin, was charged by Trooper Marc Yemzow of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving and failure to give immediate notice of an accident to police in connection with an April 19 truck accident on Route 225, south of Susquehanna Avenue.

Police said Shingara had a blood-alcohol content of .16 percent.

Theft of vehicle

RIVERSIDE - Charges of theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle were filed by Officer Gerard Zeidler against Samuel Peter Jones, 19, of 206 11th St., Danville.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Jones allegedly stole a 1997 silver Buick LeSabre owned by Linda L. Webb at 6 p.m. Thursday from the rear of 171 S. D&H Ave.

DUI

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Joshua Michael Daya, 31, of 134 W. Center St., Apt. 2A, Elysburg, has been charged by Patrolman Chris Grow with driving under the influence of heroin, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of four bags of heroin relating to a Jan. 2 incident at the intersection of Hillside Avenue and Fairview Street in Elysburg.

Pleads guilty

MOUNT CARMEL - David V. Brzostowski, 55, of 322 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a summary of harassment and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to pay a $300 fine plus costs.

Additional charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct were withdrawn.

Brzostowski was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with striking his girlfriend, Christine McIntyre, several times, causing injury, at 322 N. Oak St. Sunday morning.

False reports

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman David Stamets Jr. has charged Anthony M. Zamboni, 25, of 3444 State Route 125, Shamokin, with false swearing, false reports to police, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, misbranding a controlled substance and public drunkenness.

The charges relate to a May 11 incident on Brennan's Farm Road.

Zamboni waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges Wednesday and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to appear for plea court June 30 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Drug charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Charles I. Guise, 54, of 49 S. Oak St., Apt. 6, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with delivery of Oxycodone hydrochloride, possession of Oxycodone hydrochloride, receiving stolen property, theft and retail theft.

Police reported Guise was caught stealing a bottle of Oxycodone hydrochloride at Community Pharmacy on South Oak Street May 17.

Guise waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges Wednesday and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to appear for plea court June 30 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Fuel stolen

UPPER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington report that sometime between Feb. 5 and May 19, someone removed 300 gallons of fuel from a tank owned by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The fuel is valued at $1,170.

Anyone with information relative to his investigation is asked to contact state police at 570-286-5601.

Liquor law violation

MONTOURSVILLE - Liquor law violations were filed by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement against Wanzie Distributors, 715 Pine St., Kulpmont.

The establishment was cited Thursday for failing to maintain records in conformity with the provisions of the liquor code and Title 40 of the Pennsylvania Code, filed to charge and collect cash deposits on returnable original containers of malt or brewed beverages, received payment for the purchases of malt or brewed beverages with other than licensee's checks, cashier's checks or money orders, and used sales invoices that failed to include all required information.

State police said the violations occurred on Aug. 2 and on diverse other occasions within the past year.
