Accident victim critical

DANVILLE - Carl Yucha, 76, of 1517 South St., Coal Township, remained in critical condition Wednesday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Friday night along Route 61 near Pool World in Shamokin.

Yucha was a passenger in a Honda Accord operated by Donna Yucha, 51, of the same address, who also was injured and transported by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger, where she was admitted. A hospital spokeswoman reported Donna Yucha was discharged recently.

Police have identified the driver of the Subaru Legacy that collided with the Accord as Tracey Delp, 26, of Womelsdorf. Delp refused medical treatment at the scene. Her passenger, Scott Oswald, 33, of Shamokin, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, police said.

Shamokin police said the Legacy was traveling north on Route 61 at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line and collided with the Accord.

Police reported the 8:30 p.m. accident remains under investigation.
