Driver cited
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Marie C. Dorman, 56, of Sunbury, was cited by Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington for driving at an unsafe speed in connection with a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Captain Bloom and Kline roads.
Police reported Dorman was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester west on Captain Bloom Road at 5:51 a.m. when she applied her brakes to slow down for an upcoming curve. Police said the Forester then slid straight into a tree and traveled into a field.
Dorman, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by a family member to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for an evaluation.
Drug possession
COAL TOWNSHIP - A 14-year-old Coal Township boy was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with possession of marijuana in connection with an incident at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Shamokin Area High School.
Police said school officials received information that the student may be in possession of marijuana and following a search, they found a small amount of marijuana on him.

COAL TOWNSHIP - Mark Shingara, of 323 Center St., Tharptown, and Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, were cited again Thursday by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich for violating township ordinances.
Police said Shingara has allowed construction debris to accumulate at the rear and side of his property at 240 Center St., Tharptown. Police said the roof of Broscius' home has several holes in it, allowing water to enter the building, and contains broken and rotted roof covering.
Conditions update
DANVILLE - Christopher Charowsky, 21, of 1500 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, the driver of a car that crashed on Route 61 near Tharptown Feb. 28, remained in critical condition Thursday at Geisinger Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Carl Yucha, 76, of 1517 South St., Coal Township, who was injured in a two-vehicle accident March 21 on Route 61 near Pool World in Shamokin, also remained in critical condition at Geisinger.
William Scherer, 28, of Mount Carmel, who suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Route 54 near Aqua Pa. water treatment plant, remained in serious condition at Geisinger.
Two-vehicle crash
COAL TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at the intersection of Park Avenue and Chestnut streets.
Coal Township police reported Kevin Keefer, 18, of 713 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet west on Park Avenue at 5:14 p.m. when he attempted to turn onto Chestnut Street. Police said the driver's side of Keefer's vehicle was struck by a 2006 Nissan operated by Robert Schickley, 53, of 134 S. Owl St., Coal Township, who was attempting to pull out from a stop sign.
Keefer's vehicle sustained minor damage. Schickley's vehicle sustained minor damage to its front bumper area.
Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
