Accident details

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here have released details and identified the three people injured in Monday afternoon's accident on Route 54 near the Aqua Pa. water treatment plant.

Police reported Mark Ososkie, 32, of 224 S. Locust St., Mount Carmel, was driving a 2012 Volkswagen owned by Northwestern Human Services Inc., Sunbury, east on Route 54 at 4:30 p.m. when the vehicle exited the highway and struck a rock wall. The Volkswagen then spun around and flipped two or three times before coming to rest on the travel lane/berm of the road.

Ososkie was transported by ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where he underwent emergency room treatment before being released.

Two passengers in the vehicle, William Scherer, 28, and Russel Miniers, 55, both of Mount Carmel, also were injured and transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Scherer was listed in serious condition Tuesday. A hospital spokeswoman said there was no record of Miniers being treated at the medical center.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Dave's Auto Body and the accident remains under investigation.

Steals gun

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jonathan T. Eisenhuth, 30, of Mifflinburg, who is currently in Montour County Prison, Danville, was charged by Detective Jeff Brennan with theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a High Point 9mm handgun, magazine clip, a box of ammunition and holster from a vehicle owned by Brian Foulds. Police said the theft occurred Sept. 28 or Sept. 29 while the vehicle was parked in the 1100 block of West Walnut Street.

Liquor law violations

MONTOURSVILLE - Liquor law violations were filed by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement against two local establishments.

Natalie Fire Co. No. 1 was cited March 13 for purchasing malt or brewed beverages on credit and transporting malt or brewed beverages without a license. The alleged incidents occurred Aug. 10, 17 and 24 and Nov. 1 and 9.

Sherry A. Doyle of Doyle's Cafe, 200-202 W. Girard St., Atlas, was cited Thursday for purchasing malt or brewed beverages with other than licensee's checks, cashier's checks or money orders. The alleged incidents occurred Oct. 16, Nov. 2, Dec. 19 and 21 and Jan. 26.

Code citations

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two township men were cited by code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich for alleged code violations.

Mark Shingara, of 323 Center St., was issued two citations for allegedly violating the garbage ordinance after construction debris accumulated at his property at 240 Center St. on Monday and Tuesday.

Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., was issued two citations Tuesday for allegedly violating faulty weather protection ordinance as his structure's roof is rotting and has several holes allowing water to enter.

Burglary

KULPMONT - James A. Kline, of 622 Scott St., Apt. C, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday, a burglar entered his residence without permission and removed a television, PlayStation 3 video game system, various games and a phone charger. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact state police at 570-286-5601.
