One-vehicle crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:41 p.m. Saturday on Route 61 between Northwestern Drive and Kulpmont.

Township police report Heather Hudson, 42, of 917 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was operating a 2005 Ford Explorer south on Route 61 when the vehicle crossed the northbound lane, struck and traveled up the embankment and returned to the northbound lane. Hudson had bent over to pick up a cigarette lighter she dropped when the accident occurred, police said.

The vehicle is owned by Michael Krah, of 304 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel.

Hudson refused medical treatment. Police said she will be cited for careless driving.

COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas E. Broscious, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., was cited Monday by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich because the roof of his residence has several holes, allowing water to enter the building. The main roof of the structure has broken and rotted covering, police said.
