Burglaries

GIRARDVILLE - State police at Frackville are investigating two burglaries in the borough.

Police said someone entered an apartment at 36 E. Mahanoy Ave. owned by Veronica N. McCuller, 32, of Girardville, and removed several pieces of property between March 12 and Monday.

Police also reported someone stole copper pipes and wiring from a residence at 137 C St. owned by Safe Guard of Cleveland, Ohio. The theft was discovered Feb. 27.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is urged to call state police at 570-874-5300.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Brittany M. Jordan, 18, of 1040 W. Lynn St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes for retail theft for allegedly attempting to remove approximately $150 worth of merchandise from Rite Aid Pharmacy on West Independence Street Tuesday morning.

Abandoned vehicle

SHAMOKIN - Cory McCabe, 27, of Route 61, Paxinos, was cited by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes for violating an abandoned vehicle ordinance Tuesday by allowing his vehicle with an expired inspection to be parked in the 100 block of West Pine Street.
