SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court April 28 in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Eugene S. Warren, 50, of 16 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, two counts of driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, depositing waste on a highway, failure to drive in a single lane and careless driving.
The charges filed by Trooper David Myers of state police at Stonington relate to a Dec. 21 incident on Route 61 near Route 4005 in Shamokin Township.
n Michelle McCrary, 29, of Shamokin, waived a retail theft charge filed by Coal Township Patrolman Matthew Hashuga.
Police reported McCrary allegedly stole $547.66 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Route 61 between Dec. 15 and Jan. 22.
n Brandon E. Reigle, 22, of 251 Fig Road, Shamokin, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and charges of careless driving, a turn signal violation, a lighting violation and seat belt violation filed by Trooper Justin Rosboschil of state police at Stonington.
The charges relate to a Jan. 25 traffic stop at the intersection of Route 61 and West Dewart Street in Shamokin.
n Douglas Lance Hatzel, 49, of 1206 Friedline Road, Danville, pleaded guilty to theft by deception and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs; he was placed on supervised probation for one year.
An additional charge of retail theft was withdrawn.
Hatzel was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Scott Weaver with filling a vehicle with gasoline and driving off without paying on five different occasions at Turkey Hill Minit Market, 501 N. Second St. The retail value of the stolen gasoline is $270.26.
n Ariel Parker, 26, of 1504 W. Lynn St., waived three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance relating to a Sept. 24 motorcycle crash near the intersection of State and Jackson streets.
The charges were filed by Coal Township Patrolman Joshua Wynn.
n Thomas Hawk, 49, of 1143 W. Fern St., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to a summary of harassment and was ordered to pay a fine and costs totaling $241.
An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.
Hawk was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Joshua M. Wynn with pushing his girlfriend, Melissa Twist, 40, out of a vehicle near Montgomery and Cedar streets Feb. 1, causing injury to her left arm.
n Richard J. Giedosh Jr., 22, of 702 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.
The charge was filed by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II in connection with a Dec. 22 incident at Giedosh's home.
n Thomas Madden Jr., 50, and his brother, Richard Madden, 49, both of 417 Main St., Ranshaw, pleaded guilty to a summary of harassment and were each ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs.
An additional charge of simple assault filed against the brothers was withdrawn.
The Maddens were charged by Coal Township Patrolman David Sage in connection with a March 1 fight at their house.
n David Payne, 24, of 33 N. Seventh St., Apt. 3, Shamokin, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus costs. An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.
Payne was charged by Shamokin Patrolman William Zalinski with punching his live-in girlfriend, Shaniqua Stoute, in the face, causing her nose to swell and bleed. Police said the assault occurred Feb. 27 at their apartment.
n John J. Yadlosky, 24, of Elysburg, waived a misdemeanor of flight to avoid apprehension. An additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn.
Yadlosky was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II in connection with a Feb. 26 incident in the 300 block of South Pearl Street.
