Vehicle slides off snowy road
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - A Northumberland driver was charged with a speeding violation when the car she was driving slid off the road and struck two objects on Mile Post Road, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Todd Leiby said Andrea M. Carman, 18, was traveling in a 2000 Subaru Outback west on Route 4004 when she lost control of the vehicle due to snowy and slush-covered roadways.
The vehicle exited the highway and struck a PennDOT traffic sign and a Verizon utility pole, knocking it over, before coming to final rest, police said.
Carman was wearing her seatbelt, and she was not injured, police said.
