Rear-end collision
SNYDERTOWN - No injuries were reported in a rear-end crash Wednesday on Snydertown Road.
According to Trooper David Myers, state police at Stonington, Michael D. Barvitskie, 36, of Paxinos, was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota east in the direction of Elysburg about 5:44 p.m. near Smith Road when he rear-ended a 2012 Kia Sorrento driven by Reynold J. Bainbridge, 58, of Danville.
Myers said Bainbridge had stopped his vehicle after a deer reportedly ran from the woods and jumped over the vehicle's hood.
The two drivers and a passenger of Bainbridge's, 58-year-old Rose M. Bainbridge, also of Danville, were wearing seat belts.
Charges are pending further investigation.
Drug-related charges
SNYDERTOWN - A 15-year-old male is facing charges after drug paraphernalia was allegedly found inside his bedroom at his Main Street home about 10 a.m. Jan. 21. Trooper Thomas C. Leib, state police at Stonington, is handling the investigation.
Failure to register
MOUNT CARMEL - Frederick C. Hess Jr., 40, of 31 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by Patrolman Jason Drumheller with failure to comply with registration requirements with state police under Megan's Law because he is a registered sex offender.
Police said the offense occurred Jan. 22.
Drunk driving
COAL TOWNSHIP - Michael Marciniak, 21, of 100 E. Market St., Trevorton, has been charged by Patrolman Chad Yoder with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Yoder said Marciniak was found about 7 a.m. Dec. 18 behind the wheel of his vehicle, slumped into the passenger seat, parked on the shoulder of Route 225.
Blood testing found his blood alcohol content to be 0.175 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
