Driver identified
STONINGTON - The driver whose vehicle struck a corn crib and then a shed off Maple Road near here was identified by state police as Chetch E. Brittingham, 34, of Sunbury.
Trooper Brian Ronk of the Stonington State Police barracks said Chetch was driving a 2000 Toyota Celica at 3:20 p.m. Friday when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve, exited the road on the north berm and struck the barn two miles off Route 61 in Shamokin Township.
A piece of wood broke from the shed, entered the top left of the windshield, narrowly missing the driver, went across the front seat and out the passenger side window.
The car then continued to travel west through a yard until it struck a tree and came to a final rest, police said. Cetch walked away with only scratches and minor injuries, police said.
He was cited for speeding, police said.
