Scrap metal stolen

LITTLE MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Kyle Lesher, of Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington someone entered an outbuilding on his property at 964 Creek Road sometime between Dec. 30 and Jan. 1 and removed various items of scrap metal before leaving the scene.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact state police at 570-286-5601.

One-vehicle crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - A 17-year-old Herndon female was not injured in a one vehicle crash on Hooflander Road near Slutter Valley Road in Washington Township at 5:44 a.m. Saturday.

State police at Stonington say a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by the female, was negotiating a left curve in the road when she lost control under icy conditions. The Cavalier traveled off the right side of the road, through a yard and struck a tree with its front.

The female was not injured and police said that the seatbelt system and air bags were deployed. She received a written warning from police about driving too fast for conditions.

Wishing well theft

PAXINOS - Kathy Derck, of Irish Valley Road, Paxinos, reported to state police at Stonington sometime between Dec. 11 and Jan. 4, someone removed a wooden wishing well from her yard.

Vehicle rollover

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - A Sunbury woman escaped injury following a rollover crash at 11:47 a.m. Sunday on Cider Press Road, Rockefeller Township.

State police at Stonington say a 2005 Saturn Vue, driven by Alyssa G. Bingaman, 19, of Sunbury, was traveling east on Cider Press Road when she lost control of the vehicle on a patch of slush on the road surface. The Vue then spun and rolled onto its roof.
