Dogs run at large
COAL TOWNSHIP - Ida Makowski, 54, of 113 Berry St., was cited by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky for allowing her dogs to run at large onto a neighboring property at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 4.
Rider hurt
COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here are continuing their investigation into an accident involving a bicyclist being struck by a white truck at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of West Walnut Street.
Patrolman Jason Adams reported Gregory Guy, 28, of Coal Township, was riding a bicycle east when he moved toward the westbound lane to allow a white truck to pass him from behind. While the truck passed, it sideswiped the bicycle and knocked Guy to the ground.
The truck continued east without stopping, police said.
Guy later was treated and released at a local hospital.

Simple assault
COAL TOWNSHIP - Charges of simple assault and harassment were filed by Patrolman Chad Yoder against Cindy Somers, 33, of Coal Township, for allegedly punching Joseph Boyer, 52, of Kulpmont, in the face several times while intoxicated.
Boyer suffered a bloody nose and mouth in the assault that occurred at 12:40 a.m. Sunday at 845 W. Wood St.
Somers was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
Charges pending
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported charges are pending against a 45-year-old Elysburg woman in connection with a one-vehicle accident shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday near 4120 Snydertown Road.
Police said Kelly Wiest was driving a 2004 Kia Spectra west on Snydertown Road when she lost control of her car, which spun around, exited the road and landed in a ditch and cornfield.
Wiest escaped serious injury.
Curfew violation
SHAMOKIN - A 15-year-old Shamokin boy was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for a curfew violation after being spotted riding an off-road motorcycle at Second and Mulberry streets at 2:22 a.m. July 5.
Code violations
COAL TOWNSHIP - Code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich has filed citations against the following property owners for violating the township's brush, grass and weeds ordinance:
- Lawrence A. Coutlee, of 747 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, for his property at 1743 Tioga St.
- Fred Lombardo, of 143 Woodlyn Ave., Willow Grove, for his property at 1337 W. Walnut St.
- Gurpinder Pal Singh, of 13943 Queens Blvd., Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., for his property at 1239 W. Arch St.
- Randy J. Dock, of 155 Red Court Lane, Middleburg, for his property at 912-914 Holly St.
Driver fair
DANVILLE - Gail Trelace, 66, of Pocahontas Lane, Elysburg, who was injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday night on Penn Avenue in Elysburg, was in fair condition Monday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
