NEW CASTLE TOWNSHIP - Dorothy Brenneman, 31, of Ashland, is accused of taking a necklace and a pair of earrings from a Sears department store at the Schuylkill Mall at 4:42 p.m. Aug. 8, according to state police at Frackville.
Trooper Mark Demko said Brenneman was confronted by the store's loss prevention staff after she left the store, and the stolen items were found with her.
The jewelry was returned to Sears, police said.
Brenneman was charged with retail theft, police said.

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Justin Tononi, 26, of Shamokin, is accused of taking a T-shirt, shorts and watch from a Walmart department store at 980 Susquehanna Trail at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 9, according to state police at Selinsgrove.
Trooper Timothy Nicklas said Tononi allegedly left the store without paying for the merchandise.
Theft from a motor vehicle
LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - An unknown actor entered the parked vehicle of Brett Lyn Hadle, 36, of Amish School Road, Herndon, through an unlocked hatch on the sleeper cab and removed multiple items between July 27 and Aug. 10, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Justin Rosboschil said the person fled the scene at CKC Trucking along Route 147 and there were no witnesses.
