3 escape injury
BUFFALO TOWNSHIP - Three Shamokin residents escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning at the intersection of Dreisbach Church Road and Route 45 in this Union County township.
State police at Milton reported Richard Martin, 37, and his two passengers, Tonya Wilk, 30, and Frank R. Nahodil Jr., 38, were not injured in the 9:25 a.m. crash. John P. Mazich, 52, of Centre Hall, the driver of the other vehicle, suffered a minor injury and was transported by Mifflinburg Ambulance to Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.
Police reported Martin was turning left onto Route 45 from Dreisbach Church Road in a 1996 Ford F-150 pickup truck and pulled into the path of Mazich's 2004 Mazda B4000, which was traveling east on Route 45. Police said the car struck the left front of the truck and spun it clockwise. Both vehicles came to rest facing east.
Police said Martin will be charged in the accident, but did not identify the violation.
Minor injury
HARTLEY TOWNSHIP - Sandra C. Facer, 44, of Mount Carmel, suffered a minor injury Monday morning when her vehicle descended an embankment along Fairgrounds Road and hit a utility pole in this Union County township.
According to state police at Milton, Facer was driving a 2011 Ford Escape north at 10:36 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a left curve, causing her vehicle to descend an embankment and crash into a utility pole before stopping.
Facer, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by Mifflinburg Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was cited for failing to drive in a single lane.
