Theft charges

COAL TOWNSHIP - Joseph Miscavage IV, 19, of 128 Tharp St., Tharptown, and a 15-year-old male from Shamokin have been charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with stealing a 2008 "Baja-Heat" mini bike from the rear of Robert Schleig's property at 705 Center St., Tharptown, on May 20.

Police said the mini bike was recovered, but sustained approximately $200 in damage.

Miscavage was charged with theft, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief. The teen was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief.

Robbery

ADAMS TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove are searching for a white male in his late 30s or early 40s who allegedly robbed a 27-year-old female between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Sunday along Route 4014 in this Snyder County township.

Police said the suspect, who is of average build, stopped along the road and made advances toward the victim who was building a fire. Police said the man then stole money and medication from her purse. He then fled the scene in a red full-size Chevy pickup truck.

Simple assault

PALO ALTO - John Liptok, 24, of Pottsville, has been charged by state police at Schuylkill Haven with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting Kevin Wagner, 26, of Auburn, who suffered numerous injuries.

Police said the assault occurred between 9 p.m. July 9 and 1 a.m. July 10 along railroad tracks beneath Route 61 in this Schuylkill County borough.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Eric Dietrich, 51, of 402 1/2 Mahoning St., Milton, has been charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with criminal mischief relating to an incident at 5:30 p.m. June 3.

Police reported Dietrich took a 2002 Saturn owned by Michael Morris, 59, of 9 N. Seventh St., Shamokin, without his permission from Jones Enterprises along Route 125. Police said Dietrich returned to Jones Enterprises a short time later and allegedly cracked the windshield and fender and smeared black grease all over the cloth front seats of Morris' car, causing $1,346.74 worth of damage.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Shawn Soliday, 29, of 10 S. Vine St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Shane Mowery for public drunkenness for causing a disturbance at about 8 p.m. July 7 at Vine and Oneida streets.

Teens found

SUNBURY - Two teens from Sunbury, who left home early Thursday morning, have been found, according to city police.

Sunbury City Police Chief Stephen Mazzeo reported Monday that Joseph Theis, 16, and Christopher Reicher, 15, have been found and are currently under the care of the Northumberland County Children and Youth Agency.

In a press release, police thanked the local news media, general public and the assisting law enforcement agencies that discovered the "endangered youths."
