Knife at school
COAL TOWNSHIP - Joshua R. Linn, 18, of 2459 state Route 61, Sunbury, was allegedly found in possession of a 4-inch folding knife Friday at Shamokin Area Middle-High School, according to Coal Township Deputy Police Chief Chris Williams.
Linn will be charged with possession of a weapon on school property and disorderly conduct.
Car into ditch
AUGUSTAVILLE - A 51-year-old Coal Township woman escaped injury after wrecking a car on a snow-covered road Monday near Route 61 in Shamokin Township, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper George Ritchey said Andrea M. Maurer was driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt on Captain Bloom Road at 7:06 a.m. when the vehicle spun 180 degrees, slid into a ditch and rolled onto its side.
Maurer was confined for a short time before emergency personnel lifted her from the car.
She will be charged with a speeding violation, Ritchey said.
Stonington Fire Company assisted at the scene.
Pickup rolls
TREVORTON - A 20-year-old Paxinos woman was unharmed after her pickup truck rolled on an icy Trevorton mountain highway Monday, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper David A. Myers said Erin G. Williams was driving a Ford Ranger south on Route 890 at 1 p.m. when the pickup's rear tires slipped, sending the truck into the northbound lane before striking a guiderail and rolling over. The vehicle came to rest on all four of its wheels.
Myers said Williams was wearing a seat belt.
