Driver injured
ELYSBURG - Martha Grabowski, 73, of Den-Mar Gardens, suffered an injury to her right eye late Monday night when a car she was driving sideswiped a tree on Penn Avenue, approximately one mile east of Bottle Road.
Ralpho Township Patrolman Steve Spade said Grabowski was driving a gold 2002 Kia east on Penn Avenue at 10:20 p.m. when her auto slid on the ice-covered road and sideswiped a tree before coming to rest on the shoulder.
Grabowski, who suffered a swollen right eye, was transported by Elysburg Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
The car was towed from the scene by Tire Ranch of Elysburg.
Also assisting at the scene were members of Elysburg and Ralpho fire companies.
The scene was cleared shortly after 11 p.m.
