Two-vehicle accident
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:37 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Routes 61 and 890, according to state police in Stonington.
Trooper Daniel Wilk reported that a 16-year-old Selinsgrove girl was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon northbound on Route 890 Saturday night toward Route 61 while Casey R. Savitski, 18, of Elysburg, was driving a 2009 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Route 61 in the right lane.
The Selinsgrove driver passed through the intersection, attempting to gain access onto the northbound lane of Route 61, and struck the front end of Savitski's vehicle with her front end, police said.
After impact, both vehicles came to rest on Route 61 - the Neon came to final rest in the southbound lane facing north while the Sebring came to final rest in the southbound lane facing south, police said.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and the vehicles were towed by Pauls Towing and Zlocki Towing, police said.
The Selinsgrove driver was charged with a traffic violation.
Also responding to the scene were Upper Augusta Township Fire Department and Americus Hose Ambulance.
