Teen was driver

TREVORTON - A vehicle owner involved in a crash Thursday on East Shamokin Street, near Oak Street, was charged with filing a false report to police.

Joseph Walker, 38, of Sunbury, was reported to be the driver in the 9:44 a.m. accident. According to police, Walker allegedly lost control of his vehicle on a slush-covered berm, leaving the road and striking an embankment, where the vehicle rolled onto its side. A 14-year-old female was injured in the crash.

Upon further investigation, state police at Stonington determined a 14-year-old Sunbury male, not Walker, was the driver of the vehicle. Police charged Walker with various violations, including filing a false report and permitting an unauthorized person to drive his vehicle. The juvenile was cited for numerous traffic violations.
