Burglary
COAL TOWNSHIP - Police continue to investigate a burglary at a Race Street residence Sunday night into Monday morning.
At least two people gained entry into the home of Florence Novinskie, 93, of 1022 Race Street by smashing out the rear kitchen window. Novinskie was sleeping at the time as the thieves removed several hundred dollars from the home. The burglary occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Bowling ball damages cars
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - An unknown individual put a bowling ball through two vehicles between the hours of 2 and 8 a.m. Jan. 1 on Heim Road, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Todd Leiby reported that a bowling ball was thrown through the rear window of a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, which belongs to Jessica Glenn, of Heim Road, and the windshield of a 2013 Jeep Latitude, which belongs to Ashlee Osborne, of North Eleventh Street, Sunbury.
Both vehicles were parked unattended in private driveways, police said.
The estimated damage to both vehicles is $500 each, police said.
