Driver not injured

RUSH TOWNSHIP - A Coal Township driver was not injured when she lost control of the vehicle she was driving in the snow and struck a guardrail Saturday afternoon, according to state police at Stonington.

Trooper James McCormick said Brittany A. Mayton, 19, was driving a 1998 Saturn SC2 east on a left-hand downhill curve on Route 54 at 3:38 p.m. when she drifted into the south edge of the snow-covered roadway.

She swerved to her left to avoid a snow pile and lost control, traveling across both lanes of Route 54 and striking the guard rail with the front of the car along the north side of the road, just east of Bowden Road, police said.

Mayton was wearing a seatbelt and she will not be charged with a traffic violation, police said.

Minor injury

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - A Trevorton driver experienced minor injuries when he lost control on the vehicle he was driving in the snow and struck a rock wall Saturday afternoon, according to state police at Stonington.

Trooper Randall Kurtz said Stephen L. Snyder, 42, was driving a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta south on Route 890 at its intersection with Plum Creek Road at 5:31 p.m. when he lost control on slush.

He traveled off the west berm and struck a rock wall with the right front of the car, and then traveled approximately 15 feet south before coming to rest along the west berm of the road, facing south, police said.

Snyder was reportedly wearing his seatbelt, and was treated at the scene by Americus Ambulance Service, Sunbury, police said.

He was charged with failing to drive at safe speeds, police said.

Harassment

SUNBURY - A Sunbury man is accused of harassing another Sunbury man at 3:14 a.m. Sunday at East Sunbury Hose Company, according to state police at Stonington.

Trooper Thomas C. Leib said Zachary Michael Slonaker, 22, of 267 Clay Pond Road, allegedly struck Christopher Allan Lytle, 22, of 855 S. Second St., in the face.
