TREVORTON - Zerbe Township police reported a camera was found Sunday evening at the Trevorton Christmas-tree lighting ceremony at the Foundry. The owner can claim the camera by calling police and describing it at 797-4637.
Theft charges
COAL TOWNSHIP - Brandon S. Herb, 23, of Box 713, Coal Township RR 1, has been charged by Detective Jeff Brennan with theft-related offenses relating to the thefts of a motorcycle and car in September.
Herb is charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a Honda CRF 250 motorcycle valued at $8,000 from Charles Backes, of 870 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, between 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 10:40 a.m. Sept. 12.
He also is charged with theft and receiving stolen property relating to the theft of a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero owned by Jennifer Reed, of 941 W. Independence St., Coal Township. Police said the theft occurred between 6:30 and 9:45 p.m. Sept. 12.
Herb, who is currently incarcerated at SCI-Frackville, was arraigned on the charges Tuesday morning by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was ordered to appear for plea court Jan. 28 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.
Simple assault
COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Allen Wehner, 37, of 1557 Wabash St., Coal Township, has been charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with simple assault and harassment involving a Nov. 17 disturbance at his residence.
According to a criminal complaint, Wehner is accused of repeatedly pushing, punching, grabbing and kicking his live-in girlfriend, Brandy Johnson, causing her to suffer bruising and contusions on the left side of her face, arm, chest, knee and right arm.
Police said the assault occurred at 1 a.m.
Wehner, who is incarcerated at Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury on a probation detainer, was arraigned Tuesday morning by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, who set unsecured bail at $2,500.
False identification
SHAMOKIN - Charges of false identification to police and disorderly conduct have been filed by Patrolman Jarrod Scandle against Nicholas E. Ehrmann, 40, of 236 S. Coal St., Coal Township.
Ehrmann is accused of burning wood in a makeshift fire ring in a wooded area just south of the Patsy Steps at Rock and Spruce streets on Nov. 30 and then falsely identifying himself.
Liquor law violation
KULPMONT - Kulpmont Fire Company, 9 N. Eighth St., has been charged by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement with a gambling device violation relating to an Oct. 25 incident at the fire company.
According to state police, the fire company is accused of possessing or operating gambling devices or permitting gambling or lotteries, pool selling and/or bookmaking on its licensed premises.
Two-vehicle accident
ELYSBURG - Two Elysburg drivers were transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Routes 54 and 487 at 2:21 p.m. Monday, according to Ralpho Township Police.
A vehicle operated by Amanda Lee Andrulewicz, 35, was traveling northbound on Route 487 and struck a vehicle operated by Cheryl S. Wagner, 55, that was traveling westbound on Route 54, police said.
After the impact, Wagner's vehicle rotated 180 degrees, police said.
Assisting at the scene were Elysburg and Ralpho Fire Department, Elysburg Ambulance Company and AREA Services, police said.
The investigation continues.
Rocks cause crash
COOPER TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash on River Drive near County Line Road at 9:25 p.m. Monday in this Montour County township.
State police at Milton reported a 2001 Volkswagen Golf driven by Russell W. Heath, 20, of Danville, was traveling east on River Road when the vehicle struck boulders in the road that were placed there from an earlier rock slide. Heath struck the boulders with the Golf's undercarriage, causing disabling damage.
Heath and his passenger, Tyler R. Gerringer, 19, of Danville, were not injured in the crash and PennDOT was notified to clear the roadway. The Golf had to be towed from the scene.
