Possible DUI

Timothy L. Ulrich Jr., 25, of Danville, was placed into custody by state police for suspected DUI after an accident at 4 a.m. Monday on Bowden Road near the intersection of Logan Run Road, said Trooper Thomas Leib, state police at Stonington.

According to police, Ulrich was driving west when he lost control of the pickup, which left the road and struck a fence post before rolling onto its driver side. He suffered minor injuries and was able to exit the vehicle on his own power.

Charges are pending the result of blood testing. Ulrich was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Leib said.

He was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.

Assisting at the scene were Elysburg Ambulance, Elysburg Fire Department and Southside Fire Co.

Brothers fight

SHAMOKIN - Two brothers were cited by city police for fighting Wednesday night in the 100 block of North Rock Street.

Patrolman Darwin Tobias III said Craig C. Becker Jr., 26, and his 23-year-old brother, Nathan A. Becker, were shouting at each other before they began fighting in the middle of the street about 10:40 p.m.

Nathan A. Becker lives at 917 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, while his brother's last known address is 915 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, according to citations filed by Tobias.

Ice causes wreck

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police say an icy patch on Route 901 caused a one-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

Eric Quintero, 24, of Mount Carmel, was driving a 2004 Nissan 350 Z west about 6 a.m. when he hit ice, causing the vehicle to spin out of control and into a guide rail, Patrolman Chad Yoder said.

Quintero suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by AREA Services ambulance personnel. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Barking dogs

SHAMOKIN - A South Fifth Street woman was cited by city police for allowing her dogs to bark after multiple complaints were made Saturday evening.

Kelly B. Moser, 29, of 334 S. Fifth St., was cited by Patrolman Darwin Tobias III following complaints made about 6:45 p.m.

Police say it was the second noise disturbance reported against Moser that day.
