Woman hurt
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - A Sunbury woman suffered serious injuries when a vehicle she was driving hit an embankment Sunday evening.
According to Trooper Daniel Wilk, state police at Stonington, Helen F. Sharp, 76, was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus east on Mile Post Road shortly before 7 p.m. While negotiating a right hand curve near Spruce Hollow Road, she lost control of the vehicle and drove head-on into an embankment, Wilk said.
Sharp was transported by Americus Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for an injury to her back, Wilk said. A hospital spokesman said Monday morning she was listed in serious condition.
She was wearing a seat belt.
Sharp will be cited, the trooper said.
