Crash
CATAWISSA - State police report Jeremy L. Miller, 29, of Catawissa, was uninjured after the 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving on Old Reading Road crashed 279 feet north of Route 405 at approximately 3:45 a.m. Friday.
Trooper John Bradley said Miller was traveling north when he drove off the roadway and struck a concrete wall. He was cited for failing to stay in his lane.
Liquor law violation
COAL TOWNSHIP - The state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Springfield Banquet Hall Inc., 21 Sherman St., with failing to return a liquor license to the board after the establishment closed.
Crash
COAL TOWNSHIP - A Shamokin man suffered minor injuries to his head in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of West Pine and Poplar streets at around 4 p.m. Thursday.
Patrolman Chad Yoder said Harold Smith, 77, of Shamokin, was traveling west on Pine Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign, causing him to strike David Moore, 72, of Coal Township.
Moore was taken by ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Hospital for minor head injuries, Yoder said. Smith's Honda Accord and Moore's 2004 Suzuki sedan both sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
Charges are pending against Smith, Yoder said.
Retail theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Hashuga filed retail theft charges for alleged incidents in the Coal Township Walmart against the following suspects:
- Mallary Shingara, 27, of Shamokin, for allegedly taking $23.64 worth of merchandise July 19.
- Cara Yuskoski, 26, of Mount Carmel, for allegedly taking $42.88 worth of merchandise July 29.
Crash
CASS TOWNSHIP - Two men were injured in a crash that occurred on Highridge Park Road shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, police said.
Police said Bruce J. Moyer, 28, of Schuylkill Haven, was turning left onto Keystore Boulevard in a 1996 Subaru Impreza when he struck a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Paul Fetterolf, 59, of Ashland, who had been traveling straight through the intersection.
The impact caused the Silverado to spin and slide southeast, where it struck and went atop a raised traffic island, police said.
Police said Fetterolf was moderately injured and taken to the hospital. Moyer suffered a minor injury.
