Theft charges
COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Hashuga has charged Diana Taylor, 25, of Shamokin, with theft and retail theft for incidents at Walmart Supercenter.
On July 8 and July 9, Taylor allegedly stole $29 worth of merchandise. On July 24, she is accused of removing $200 in cash from a register while she was working at the store.
Retail theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Irene Wolfe, 25, of Sunbury, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with retail theft for allegedly making a fraudulent return of merchandise valued at $249 at Walmart Supercenter July 30.
Keys found
COAL TOWNSHIP - A set of keys was found in the area of Route 225 (Trevorton Road) Friday.
The owner of the keys is urged to contact Coal Township police at 570-644-0333.
Missing person
EAST BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP - State police at Frackville are searching for Charles J. Koncsler, 33, who was reported missing by a family member Sunday.
Police said Koncsler traveled Joe's E.Z. Pull Auto Parts with two other people and at some point left their company. Police reported Koncsler couldn't be located on the premises.
Police said Koncsler, who has his head shaved, is six feet tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has blue eyes. His natural hair color is brown.

Harassment
UPPER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - A 30-year-old Upper Mahanoy Township man and a 28-year-old male will be cited by state police at Stonington for harassment involving a disturbance at 5:18 p.m. Saturday at 165 Peach Tree Lane.
Police did not release the identities of the accused.
Motorcycle crash
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - Brian P. Dugan, 39, of Ashland, suffered a moderate injury in a motorcycle crash early Sunday at 347 Badmans Hill Road off Route 61 and was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
State police at Stonington said Dugan was driving a Harley-Davidson Soft Tail cycle east at 12:15 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a sharp right curve, causing an accident.
Dugan was listed in serious condition Monday, according to a Geisinger spokeswoman.
He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and an investigation is continuing.
Rig pulls down wires
JORDAN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported a tractor-trailer hauling a bulldozer pulled down a power line Thursday morning at the intersection of Klingerstown Road and Church Road.
Police, who did not identify the driver, said the accident occurred at 11:47 a.m. while the operator was traveling south on Church Road and making a right turn to head west on Klingerstown Road. Upon seeing wires in the middle of the road, police said the operator pulled off to the side of the road.
After the power lines came down, they broke, causing bricks to come off the side of a church.
A witness told police he noticed the power lines had been hanging very low a couple days before the accident.
Police said the 2002 Freightliner, which was at its legal height, sustained damage.
Citations issued
COAL TOWNSHIP - Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich has cited Christopher J. Rumfelt, of 2 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, for not acquiring an occupancy permit and reporting a change in occupancy within 10 days for a property at 1525 W. Walnut St. that he manages for George Atiyeh, of Mount Carmel.
Burglary
JORDAN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating a burglary that occurred at 2 a.m. Friday at 1201 Hooflander Road.
Police said someone entered an unlocked porch door to gain access to the home and broke the screen door and main house door. At this time, the 21-year-old female homeowner, who was not identified by police, woke up and came downstairs. The burglar then fled in a dark vehicle.
Total damage to the residence is approximately $200.

Realtor signs stolen
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported someone stole three Square Diehl Realty Inc. signs from the intersection of Route 61 and Lilac Road between Sept. 12 and Sept. 16.
The signs are valued at $125.

Flashing light removed
LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington said a PennDOT LED flashing light from a cone in a construction zone along Dornsife Mountain Road was stolen Sept. 16.
Runaway
SUNBURY - Foster parent Sandy Kay Bingaman, 60, of 211 Bassett Road, Sunbury, reported a male juvenile ran away from her home at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
State police at Stonington are continuing their search for the teen.
Simple assault
RANSHAW - Dane E. Albertson Jr., 29, of 217 Third St., Ranshaw, was charged by Coal Township Patrolman David Sage with simple assault and harassment involving a domestic disturbance Sept. 13.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Albertson is accused of punching his live-in girlfriend, Kirsten Gates, in the face, knocking her to the ground and dragging her along Third and Water streets. Gates suffered multiple injuries and was treated at the scene by AREA Services personnel before being transported to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where she underwent emergency room treatment before being released.
Albertson was arraigned Monday by Gembic and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Multiple offenses
MOUNT CARMEL - Patrick A. Pitts, 18, of 338 S. Pear St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by three different borough officers with drug-related offenses.
Pitts is charged by Patrolman Justin Stelma with possessing spice and foil smoking pipes Aug. 27 at his home. He is charged by Patrolman William Adamski with possessing spice and a cellophane cigarette wrapper Aug. 29 on South Pear Street. Pitts also is charged by Lt. Christopher Buhay with possessing a foil smoking pipe with burnt spice residue at his residence Aug. 30.
Fire call
MOUNT CARMEL - Fire personnel responded to a call Monday morning at 133 N. Oak St. involving a wood burner that malfunctioned, causing the house to fill with smoke.
Captain Jim Williams, of Anthracite Fire Company, reported Richard Ferri, of Mount Carmel, the owner of the house who is remodeling the property, was burning wood when the incident occurred. The call initially was reported as a first-alarm dwelling fire, but Williams said damage was contained to the wood burner.
Mount Carmel Code Enforcement Officer Robin Williams said the damper on the wood burner will need to be replaced before it can be operated. He said Ferri is in compliance with all building codes.
Also responding were members of Clover Hose Company, firefighter Jack Williams Sr., Lt. Chris Buhay and Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush.
Drug paraphernalia
KULPMONT - William A. Griffiths, 22, of 936 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was charged by Police Chief Michael Pitcavage with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct relating to a Sept. 1 incident at his home.
Police said Griffiths, who was playing music loudly, possessed a hollow pen containing white powder residue commonly used to inhale pills.
Theft charges
MOUNT CARMEL - Brian G. Madden Jr., 22, of 255 W. Saylor St., Atlas, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with theft, receiving stolen property and public drunkenness involving a Sept. 1 incident.
Police reported Madden allegedly stole a tip jar containing $20.39 from the Vine Street Sandwich Shop.
