Guilty plea
SHAMOKIN - Robert Whispell III, 28, of 720 E. Commerce St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.
Additional charges of flight to avoid apprehension, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct were withdrawn.
Whispell was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II in connection with an Aug. 22 incident at his home.
Public drunkenness
SHAMOKIN - Dennis M. Chandler, 48, of 2 N. Vine St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and violating the city's noise ordinance.
Police reported Chandler is accused of chasing after his son and a baby and disturbing the peace by doing a "burnout" with his vehicle in front of his house at 7:12 p.m. Sunday.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Tajuan Crum, 19, of 26 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for allegedly yelling at people and swinging and kicking at Sixth and Walnut streets, and East Independence Street at 10:10 p.m. Monday.
Cruelty to animals
SHAMOKIN - Gregory T. Clifford, 18, of 26 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for cruelty to animals and allowing his two dogs to run at large involving a disturbance at 4:24 p.m. Sunday in the first block of South Shamokin Street.
Police reported Clifford allegedly punched his dogs in the face while attempting to control them.
Backyard fire
SHAMOKIN - William Dales, 39, of 27 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for igniting a large pile of brush in his backyard at 7 p.m. Saturday, causing firefighters to be pressed into service.
