Driver cited

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Marie C. Dorman, 56, of Sunbury, was cited by Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington for driving at an unsafe speed in connection with a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Captain Bloom and Kline roads.

Police reported Dorman was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester west on Captain Bloom Road at 5:51 a.m. when she applied her brakes to slow down for an upcoming curve. Police said the Forester then slid straight into a tree and traveled into a field.

Dorman, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by a family member to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for an evaluation.

Drug possession

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 14-year-old Coal Township boy was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with possession of marijuana in connection with an incident at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Shamokin Area High School.

Police said school officials received information that the student may be in possession of marijuana and following a search, they found a small amount of marijuana on him.

More citations

COAL TOWNSHIP - Mark Shingara, of 323 Center St., Tharptown, and Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, were cited again Thursday by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich for violating township ordinances.

Police said Shingara has allowed construction debris to accumulate at the rear and side of his property at 240 Center St., Tharptown. Police said the roof of Broscius' home has several holes in it, allowing water to enter the building, and contains broken and rotted roof covering.

Conditions update

DANVILLE - Christopher Charowsky, 21, of 1500 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, the driver of a car that crashed on Route 61 near Tharptown Feb. 28, remained in critical condition Thursday at Geisinger Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Carl Yucha, 76, of 1517 South St., Coal Township, who was injured in a two-vehicle accident March 21 on Route 61 near Pool World in Shamokin, also remained in critical condition at Geisinger.

William Scherer, 28, of Mount Carmel, who suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Route 54 near Aqua Pa. water treatment plant, remained in serious condition at Geisinger.

Two-vehicle crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at the intersection of Park Avenue and Chestnut streets.

Coal Township police reported Kevin Keefer, 18, of 713 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet west on Park Avenue at 5:14 p.m. when he attempted to turn onto Chestnut Street. Police said the driver's side of Keefer's vehicle was struck by a 2006 Nissan operated by Robert Schickley, 53, of 134 S. Owl St., Coal Township, who was attempting to pull out from a stop sign.

Keefer's vehicle sustained minor damage. Schickley's vehicle sustained minor damage to its front bumper area.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Two injured

EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - Two people were hospitalized after being injured in a head-on accident March 22 on Route 2044 just west of Doutyville Road.

State police at Stonington reported Elizabeth C. Rogers, 20, of Shamokin, was driving a 2008 Ford Taurus east at 9 p.m. when her car crossed the center line of the road while negotiating a left curve and struck a vehicle operated by Barbara A. Zimmerman, 45, of Ashland, head-on. Zimmerman was traveling west.

Rogers and a passenger in Zimmerman's vehicle, Barry J. Zimmerman, 18, of Ashland, were injured and transported by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Rogers reportedly was discharged from the medical center, while Zimmerman was listed in fair condition Friday.

Barbara Zimmerman and another passenger in her vehicle, Aaron M. Zimmerman, 20, of Ashland, escaped injury.

Rogers was cited by Trooper James McCormick for driving on the wrong side of the road.

Hit and run

JACKSON TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving property damage that occurred at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Route 147 near Township Route 354.

Police said a 2010 Ford Ranger was traveling in an unknown direction when it exited the road and struck a wood post fence, knocking the post from the ground. The driver then fled the scene. Police said the driver was identified, but has not been located.

Drug charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - Andrew Kevin Derck, 26, of 1317 W. Arch St., Coal Township, who was a passenger in a truck operated by Cody Z. Horne, 19, of Shamokin, who fled from police early Sunday morning, has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana in connection with the five-mile police chase.

The drug offense was filed by Trooper Justin Rosboschil of state police at Stonington, who previously charged Horne with 17 criminal offenses, including aggravated assault.

The chase started at the intersection of Hospital Road and Route 61 at Tharptown and culminated when Horne's truck became disabled near Juniper and Owl streets in the west end of the township. Police said Horne resisted arrest and fled on foot from police after being stopped.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - William L. McCollum, 33, of 146 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, was charged by Trooper James Yankovich of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, making an abrupt right turn without activating his turn signal, failure to drive in a single lane, failure to obey traffic control devices, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt.

Police reported McCollum, who had a blood-alcohol content of .158 percent, was charged in connection with a March 9 incident at Market and Lincoln streets in Shamokin.

DUI offenses

COAL TOWNSHIP - David Charles Carper, 25, of 1800 Hosta Road, Paxinos, was charged by Trooper Justin Rosboschil of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without proper registration, failure to possess a registration card, driving on the wrong side of the road, careless driving, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to drive in a single lane.

The charges relate to a March 8 vehicle stop at the intersection of Routes 61 and 901 in Coal Township.

Police said Carper had a blood-alcohol content of .103 percent.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Henrich has filed a charge of retail theft against Jason P. Carl Sr., 38, of 44 W. Adams St., Shamokin.

Police reported Carl is accused of stealing a socket set valued at $89.99 from Jones Home Center along Route 61 on Monday afternoon.

Code violations

COAL TOWNSHIP - More citations were filed against two township men accused of violating township code.

Mark Shingara, of 323 Center St., was issued a citation Friday by Chris Petrovich, code enforcement officer, for allegedly violating the garbage ordinance because of construction debris at his property at 240 Center St. The latest citation follows four issued Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday for the same alleged violation.

Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., was issued two citations Friday for allegedly violating the faulty weather protection ordinance. His structure's roof is rotting and has several holes allowing water to enter. He also was issued citations Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Hit and run

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating a hit-and-run crash on Route 61 near Klinger Road at 3:45 a.m. Friday.

Police say the driver of a silver Ford lost control of the vehicle, and struck a guide rail, then fled the scene. The vehicle went into the end of the guiderail broadside and should have damage on its driver's side and is missing its exterior driver's side mirror.

Money stolen from machines

BLOOMSBURG - State police continue to investigate the theft of money from vending machine that help raise money for a charitable organization.

State police report a number of vending machines used by North Central Sight Services Inc., Williamsport, at the Columbia County rest areas along Interstate 80 were broken into March 24. The suspects allegedly gained entry into the machines and pulled out cash and coins totalling $370, and caused $1,200 in damage.

Police say the suspects are three white males and a video of the theft is available at North Central Sight Services Inc. Facebook page.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact state police at 570-387-4261.

Mailbox damaged

MAYBERRY TOWNSHIP - Jess Oren, of Catawissa, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, someone smashed Oren's mailbox at a property on Wonderview Road, Mayberry Township. Damage is estimated at $40.

Three injured

RANSHAW - Three people were hospitalized as a result of a two-car accident Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Main Street and Route 61.

Coal Township police reported Corey Matthew Harrington, 28, of 171 Weedon Court, West Chester, was driving a 2011 Honda Civic east on Main Street at 4:49 p.m. when he failed to stop for a stop sign leading to the intersection with Route 61 south. Police said Harrington's auto then came out onto Route 61, which was covered with ice and snow, and collided with a 2010 Chervolet station wagon operated by James McFadden, 44, of 1555 South Birch St., Mount Carmel. Upon impact, the station wagon was pushed to the left and came to rest in the northbound lanes.

McFadden, his wife, Cathy McFadden, 46, and their son, Kyle McFadden, 15, were injured and transported by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where they underwent emergency room treatment before being released.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.

Harrington will be cited by police for a stop sign violation.

A section of Route 61 was closed to traffic for approximately 75 minutes.

Assisting Coal Township police and ambulance personnel were township firefighters, members of Kulpmont Fire Department and Shamokin police.

Car hits pole

BURNSIDE - Carol Snyder, 46, of 13 E. Market St., Gratz, suffered minor injuries in a one-car crash Sunday afternoon along Route 125, approximately two-tenths of a mile north of this Coal Township village.

According to Coal Township Patrolman Joshua Wynn, Snyder was driving a 2001 Pontiac north at 3:11 p.m. when she rounded a curve, lost control of her auto on the snow-covered road and crashed into a utility pole.

Snyder was transported by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where she underwent emergency room treatment before being released. A passenger in her auto, Michael Smith, 52, of 13 E. Market St., Gratz, escaped injury.

Snow-related accident

LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported Jeffrey M. Hoffman, 26, of Halifax, suffered minor injuries and was cited for failure to drive in a single lane involving a one-car accident Sunday on Route 147 in this Northumberland County township.

Police said Hoffman was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier south at 5:45 p.m. during icy-snowy conditions when he lost control of his car because he was traveling too fast. His car then crossed over both lanes of the highway, entered a residential yard and struck a large ornamental stone with its left side.

After impact, the auto rolled onto its roof and came to rest facing northwest.

The car was towed from the scene.

Truck strikes tree

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Ralph E. Treaster, 42, of Paxinos, escaped injury Sunday morning when his 2004 Ford F-150 truck struck a tree along Treva Road in this Northumberland County township.

State police at Stonington reported Treaster was driving south on Kline Road at 1:30 a.m. when he turned right onto Treva Road. Police said Treaster then observed a deer in the road and swerved to avoid striking it. His truck exited the road and crashed into a tree.

The truck was towed from the scene by Paul's Towing.

Police said Treaster did not remain at the scene or report the accident. Charges are pending against him, according to police.

Hit and run

GOWEN CITY - State police at Stonington are searching for the operator of a black truck involved in a hit-and-run accident Sunday night in the parking lot at Bubba's Bar.

Police said the truck slid in the snow into the right side of a parked 1999 Honda Civic owned by Brittani Stiely, of Dornsife, at 8:10 p.m. The hit-and-run vehicle may have damage to its driver's side.

Boy ejected

HUBLEY TOWNSHIP - Two children from Dalmatia, including a boy who was ejected, were injured in a weather-related crash Sunday afternoon at West Main Street (Route 25) and Fearnot Road in this Schuylkill County township.

According to state police at Schuylkill Haven, Rebecca Strauser, 36, of Dalmatia, was driving a 2004 Chervolet Silverado west on Main Street when the weather suddenly changed from heavy rain to ice and snow. Police said Strauser then lost control of her truck while negotiating a left curve on the icy road and struck a utility pole with its front end on the south berm near Fearnot Road.

After impact, the truck spun northwest in a counterclockwise direction, causing a 9-year-old male front-seat passenger from Dalmatia to be ejected through the right side window and landed on the road. Police said the boy had placed his shoulder strap behind him prior to the crash and only had on his lap belt.

The truck continued to spin through the west and east lanes before coming to rest facing northeast in the westbound lane.

The 9-year-old boy and a 10-year-old male passenger from Dalmatia suffered moderate and minor injuries, respectively, and were transported by Hegins Ambulance to Schuylkill Medical Center South in Pottsville.

Strauser and a 6-year-old male passenger from Dalmatia escaped injury.

The accident resulted in the road being closed at the scene for about an hour.

The truck was towed.

Police said Strauser was cited for driving too fast for road conditions.

Also assisting at the scene were members of Sacramento Fire Company and Hegins Fire Police.

Driver flees scene

PORT CARBON - Aaron J. Booterbaugh, 23, of Pottsville, faces multiple charges after he allegedly crashed his 1996 Jeep Cherokee along Pike Street (Route 209) early Sunday morning and left his passenger, Skylar Andruchuk, 21, of Pottsville, in the vehicle with a head injury.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are still searching for Booterbaugh.

Police said Booterbaugh was traveling south at 1:20 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right turn and struck a utility pole, disabling the vehicle. Booterbaugh then fled on foot with Andruchuk still in the vehicle.

Andruchuk was transported by Schuylkill Haven Ambulance to Schuylkill Medical Center South in Pottsville, where he underwent emergency room treatment for his injuries before being released.

Also assisting at the scene were Port Carbon firefighters.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 2008 Volkswagen sedan, owned by Donna Wisloski, of 1631 W. Willow St., Coal Township suffered minor damage Monday in a hit-and-run accident in the 1600 block of West Willow Street.

Items stolen

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Andrea and Ilene Bausch, of Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 12:01 and 9 a.m. Monday, someone forcibly entered their locked vehicles and stole multiple items, including tools and a purse with credit cards, before fleeing the scene.

Minor injuries

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - A West Milton man suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Route 147 north of Raker Road in Upper Augusta Township at 5:25 a.m. March 26.

State police at Stonington report a 1995 Geo Tracker, driven by Billyjoel Trumper, 33, was traveling south on Route 147 when he slid on the ice-covered roadway, lost control and traveled across the northbound lane and struck an embankment on the roadway's east side.

The Tracker then rolled over onto its driver side, spinning to face north and coming to rest in the eastbound lane. Trumper was transported to Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg, for treatment.

Two-vehicle crash

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 5:45 a.m. March 26, on State Route 2044 near Academy Street.

State police at Stonington report a 2007 Jeep Commander, driven by Haley E. Hogarty, 22, of Shamokin, was traveling north on State Route 2044 on a downhill slight left curve while a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Anna M. Shingara, 37, of Shamokin, was traveling south and going on an uphill slight right curve. Police say Hogarty lost traction and began to slide off the shoulder of the northbound lane.

Hogarty began to countersteer and then exited her lane and entered Shingara's. The Commander's left rear end struck the Tahoe's front end, sending Hogarty's vehicle spinning in a counterclockwise manner.

Both drivers and a two-year-old male passenger in Hogarty's vehicle were injured. Police cited Hogarty for failure to drive a vehicle at a safe speed.

Identity theft

SUNBURY - State police at Stonington report at 10 a.m. Friday, someone used the names and Social security numbers of Brenda Swisher, 60, and Willard Swisher, 56, both of Helm Road, Sunbury, to file a federal income tax return.

Liquor law citation

MONTOURSVILLE - The Herndon House Restaurant and Bar, Main and Ferry streets, Herndon, was cited March 27 by the Montoursville District Office of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

According to officers, the establishment issued checks on Dec. 20, Dec. 30 and Jan. 9, to purchase alcohol beverages with insufficient funds or credit in its account.

The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. The judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation.

Theft of services

PAXINOS - State police at Stonington reported a contractor hired by Douglas Martz, 52, of Paxinos, to install windows failed to provide the services after being partially paid Sept. 15.

Burglary

THARPTOWN - Mike Moore, 45, of Paxinos, reported someone broke into a property he owns at 1100 Tharp St. and stole a top drawer from a chest of drawers unit between Sunday and Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call Coal Township police at 570-644-0333.

Cited again

COAL TOWNSHIP - Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich cited Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, again for having faulty weather protection on his home that has several holes in its roof and rotted roof covering that allows water to enter the building.

Pot possession

SHAMOKIN - Dawel Lantigua, 21, of 17 S. Rock St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman William Miner with possessing a small amount of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia involving a Feb. 25 incident at his home.

Police said Lantigua possessed marijuana, a smoking pipe and rolling papers.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Raymond Siko II has charged Robert Thomas Ferrick, 26, of 25 N. Second St., first floor, Shamokin, with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a March 19 incident at his residence.

Police reported Ferrick possessed a chrome spoon used to prepare a controlled substance, multiple little bags used for packing a controlled substance and a smoking pipe.

Assault

MOUNT CARMEL - James A. Mohl, 55, of 336 Turnpike St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct involving a March 6 disturbance in his yard.

Police reported Mohl and Lance Glenney became involved in a physical altercation after Mohl reportedly called police about Glenney's dog defecating in his yard. Police said Mohl is accused of punching Glenney in the head, causing injuries that required treatment at a local hospital. Glenney also complained that Mohl was suffocating him during the scuffle.

Police said Glenney suffered head, neck and back injuries.

Drug offenses

MOUNT CARMEL - Christa M. Anzalone, 35, of 131 W. Third St., Apt. 1, Mount Carmel, faces charges involving two incidents at her home last month.

She was charged by Chief of Police Todd Owens with two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia involving a March 15 incident.

She also was charged by Cpl. David Donkochik with endangering the welfare of children for not taking proper care of her 3-year-old child. Police said Anzalone failed to properly feed the child while she was drunk.

DUI

ATLAS - Christopher A. Yucha Jr., 26, of 158 Front St., Strong, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, failure to drive in a single lane and careless driving.

The charges involve a Feb. 14 incident along Route 61 near East Columbia Avenue in Atlas in which Yucha's vehicle was found stuck in a snow bank after the driver allegedly attempted to avoid striking an animal.

Police reported Oxycodone was found in Yucha's blood.

DUI II

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Charges of driving under the influence of Tramadol, careless driving, driving without insurance and failure to drive in a single lane were filed by Sgt. Chris Kreisher against Dylan Blum, 21, of Harrisburg.

The charges relate to a Jan. 3 one-vehicle accident on Route 61 near Miller's Gas and Oil.

DUI III

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Sgt. Chris Kreisher has charged Deborah Rundle, 56, of 1760 Monroe Ave., Bloomsburg, with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving and misbranding a controlled substance.

The charges were filed in connection with a two-vehicle accident Jan. 9 on Route 487 near East Center Street in Elysburg.

Police said Rundle had three types of controlled substances in her blood.

Criminal mischief

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Cheryl Frits, 54, of Northumberland, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, someone damaged her vehicle while it was parked at the Shikellamy Marina.

Dump truck in accident

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a dump truck at 3:17 p.m. Wednesday on Route 61 near the south entrance to Tharptown.

Patrolman Chad Yoder reported Martin Sarfine, 53, of 1132 Center St., Coal Township, was traveling north on Route 61 in a 2003 Sterling dump truck, as was Brian Herb, 42, of 3357 Route 61, Sunbury in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Police say the two vehicles touched while coming past the entrance to Tharptown, causing Herb's vehicle to strike the guardrail and spin, eventually crossing the southbound lanes and coming to rest on the south shoulder of the highway.

The dump truck was not damaged, but Herb's vehicle sustained severe damage to the driver's side front wheel and hood. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Neither driver was injured, and police say charges are pending upon completion of the investigation.

Hit and run

RUSH TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington continue to search for the driver involved in a crash at 3:20 a.m. Thursday on Sunbury Road, near Ploppert Road in Rush Township.

Police say a 2008 Ford F250 truck was traveling north on Sunbury Road when the driver lost control for an unknown reason, crossed into the southbound travel lane and exited the west berm of the road.

The F250 struck a utility pole, continued north along an embankment for approximately 120 feet before rolling onto its passenger side and coming to rest in the southbound lane. The driver then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

DUI charges filed

COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert J. Bresko, 44, of 926 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and a charge of careless driving following an investigation into a March 9 accident on the Cameron Bridge. Police said that Bresko's blood alcohol level was .248 percent at the time of the accident.

Theft from vehicle

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Jason A. Finfinger, 30, of State Street, Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, someone entered his unlocked vehicle and removed some change and a wallet containing miscellaneous cards, and then fled the scene.

Cited again

COAL TOWNSHIP - Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich cited Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., again Thursday for having faulty weather protection on his home. Petrovich said the roof has several holes and a rotted covering that allow water to enter the building.


Prothonotary's office to close civil divison Wednesday mornings

SUNBURY - The civil division of Northumberland County's Prothonotary's Office at the courthouse will close to the public indefinitely each Wednesday morning.

Beginning Wednesday the civil division will be closed from 9 a.m. and will reopen to the public at 1 p.m. Prothonotary Justin Dunkelberger said Thursday that the weekly closure will allow office personnel time to catch up on a backlog of court documents that must be input into the docket.

However, the office will continue to handle special reliefs, protection from abuse orders and other courthouse matters during that time, Dunkelberger said.

Citations pending

MOUNT CARMEL - Borough police have released information pertaining to a one-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at Third and Walnut streets.

Diane Sebes, 66, of Kulpmont, was operating a Pontiac Grand Am east on Third Street when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the westbound lane and struck a utility pole on the northeast corner of the intersection, police said. The vehicle sustained major front-end damage.

Sebes was transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said citations are pending, including careless driving and a stop sign violation. The investigation continues.

Harassment

RANSHAW - A 14-year-old Coal Township male was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with harassment and criminal mischief for allegedly slapping and punching a 17-year-old male from Shamokin in the head and face several times at the Ranshaw playground at 2:15 p.m. March 22.

Police said the teen also poured soda and spit tobacco on the victim's coat.

The victim suffered a minor injury, police said.

Cited again

COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was cited again Friday by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich for having faulty weather protection at his home, which has several holes in its roof and rotted roof covering, which allows water to enter the building.

Broscius has been cited numerous times for the same ordinance violation.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Kenneth K. Lamar, 36, of 115 W. Montgomery St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman William Miner with retail theft and receiving stolen property involving a Dec. 31 incident at CVS Pharmacy on West Independence Street.

Police reported Lamar is accused of stealing two T-mobile phones valued at $179.98.

Phone scam

SHAMOKIN - Police Chief Edward Griffiths warns area residents of a telephone scam in which funds are being solicited for Geisinger Health System. The chief said there is no such fundraiser.

Shoots foot

DALMATIA - Antonio D. Croce, of New Market, Md., suffered injuries to his second and third toe on his foot after accidentally shooting himself with a 12 gauge shotgun about 6 p.m. Saturday at the Martz Game Farm in Lower Mahanoy Township, according to state police at Stonington. No other information was available.

Attempted bar burglary

COAL TOWNSHIP - Joseph V. Payne, 29, of 916 E. Chestnut St., Shamokin, has been charged by Patrolman David Sage with attempting to break into the Clubhouse Bar, 1027 E. Race St., late Sunday night.

Police reported Payne was seeking to steal metal items such as beer taps and empty beer kegs shortly before 11:30 p.m., but was observed by residents in the area who called police. While Payne was attempting to flee the area from an upper porch on the building, he fell and was taken into custody by police without incident.

Payne is accused of causing approximately $500 in damage during the attempted break-in.

He was transported to a holding cell at Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury, where he was arraigned by video Monday morning by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Payne was committed to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Payne is charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary, criminal attempt to commit criminal trespass, criminal attempt to commit theft, loitering and prowling at night, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and possessing instruments of crime.

Coal Township police were assisted in the investigation by Shamokin police.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - A charge of harassment has been filed by Coal Township police against Michael Oregan, 25, of 1257 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, in connection with an incident at 1:20 a.m. Saturday at McDonald's along Route 61.

Police reported Oregan came to the restaurant's drive-through window on foot and was told he couldn't be served because he wasn't in a vehicle. Police said Oregan then became upset and began making racial slurs toward employee Pablo Hernandez.

Public drunkenness

COAL TOWNSHIP - Brandie Haddock, 50, of 834 W. Willow St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Joshua Wynn for public drunkenness in connection with an incident in the 900 block of West Willow Street at 12:14 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Haddock, who suffered injuries in a fall, was found intoxicated to a degree that she endangered herself. Haddock was transported to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where she was treated and released.

DUI

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - Edward Francis Ososkie, 36, of Trevorton Road, Coal Township, was arrested by Trooper Justin Rosboschil of state police at Stonington for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol involving a vehicle stop at 2:23 a.m. Sunday on Route 61 near the Sunoco Station in Shamokin Township.

Vehicle hits trees

JORDAN TOWNSHIP - Heather L. Forney, 41, of Herndon, suffered moderate injuries Friday night when her 1995 Nissan Pathfinder traveled off Hooflander Road and struck two trees near Snow Dale Road in this Northumberland County township.

State police at Stonington said Forney was driving west at 6:55 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left curve. The Pathfinder exited the road and hit a tree on the west berm. The sport utility vehicle then crossed the double yellow lines and hit another tree on the east berm before coming to rest.

Forney, who refused to take a blood test, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Additional charges also are pending against her.

Police said Forney was transported by Americus Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Code violations

COAL TOWNSHIP - George Atiyeh, of Allentown, owner of Apartments and Acquisitions LP, was cited Thursday by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich for failing to secure an occupancy permit and failing to report the status of occupancy at a property he owns at 1508 Wabash St.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Brittany Brown, 23, of 1111 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, was charged by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness involving an incident at 7:37 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North Shamokin Street.

Police said a bent spoon with a white powdery substance was found in Brown's possession.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Michael Young, 32, of 1467 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, false identification to police, driving under suspension, failure to obey traffic control devices and a lighting violation.

The charges relate to a March 17 vehicle stop on Rock Street.

Police said Young had a blood-alcohol content of .188 percent.

Theft charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - James Hill, 56, of 833 Center St., Tharptown, was charged by Detective Jeff Brennan with theft for allegedly stealing a cell phone owned by Coal Township and making $770.90 worth of unauthorized calls with it.

According to a criminal complaint, Hill was hired by Coal Township in July under the Experience Works program to perform general maintenance and labor for the township. Police said Hill was provided a cell phone owned by the township for work purposes only that included contacting the street department foreman when he completed a job so he could be taken to his next job.

Police said Hill was instructed to return the cell phone to the township at the end of each day, but he reportedly kept the phone since early December despite several attempts by township manager Rob Slaby to retrieve it.

Hill admitted to Brennan that he kept the phone and used it to make personal calls to his girlfriend.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Filarski has charged James Ortona, 48, of 880 High Road, Ashland, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle without a certificate of inspection and restriction on alcoholic beverages.

The charges relate to a March 16 vehicle stop near Beaverdale.

Police said Ortona had a blood-alcohol content of .126 percent.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Richard J. White, 28, of 405 W. Pine St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief relating to a disturbance shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday on East Independence Street.

Police said White is accused of pulling a metal rack owned by the Dollar General store onto the ground and pushing a display item owned by Bressi & Martin onto the sidewalk.

Anthony L. Munson, 23, of 561 N. Second St., Shamokin, also was cited by Siko for public drunkenness in connection with the same incident.

One-vehicle crash

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a crash at 6:50 p.m. Monday, in the area of Hickory Road, Lower Mahanoy Township.

State police at Stonington report a 1999 Subaru Forester, driven by Casey L. Forney, 18, of Gratz, was traveling west on Hickory Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole with its right front end.

After the crash, the Forester rolled over in the westbound lane and came to rest facing Northeast. Forney was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time, but was cited by police for failing to maintain his vehicle on the roadway.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Levi Reigle, 22, of 1244 Chemung St., Coal Township, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for disorderly conduct in connection with an altercation at 10:53 p.m. March 28 at Independence and Ninth streets.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Shane Clements, 22, of 1101 E. Race St., reported to township police that sometime between Friday and Sunday, someone scratched the passenger side door of his 1996 Mercury while it was parked on Race Street. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 570-644-0333.

Urinates in public

SHAMOKIN - Kenneth K. Lamar, 57, of 315 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 3, Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for disorderly conduct for urinating at Independence and Washington streets near the Shamokin Post Office at 1:46 a.m. March 29.

Underage drinking

SHAMOKIN - Ashley Lynn Talmadge, 19, of 1332 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, was cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for underage drinking and disorderly conduct for allegedly yelling and cursing at 1:27 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of North Vine Street.

Police said the disturbance annoyed neighbors.

Cited again

Multiple offenses

SHAMOKIN - Jeffrey S. Luta, 41, of 3413 State Route 61, Sunbury, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with two counts each of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, and one count of public drunkenness involving a disturbance at 3:35 a.m. Sunday at Rock and Spurzheim streets.

Luta is accused of striking Michael Giliegbaurer in the back of the head and breaking his $500 headphones. He also allegedly resisted arrest during which time a wooden roof support at 409 E. Spruzheim St. was knocked over onto a police car, causing approximately $1,000 damage.

Prior to being taken into custody, police said Luta yelled at officers and challenged them to shoot him while he was standing on a porch at 409 E. Spurzheim St.

Teen threatens suicide

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Jarrod Scandle has cited a 17-year-old Shamokin male twice for disorderly conduct for threatening to jump off a third-story roof at his East Sunbury Street residence at 9:47 a.m. March 29 and 12:48 a.m. March 30.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Joseph M. Kristoff, 48, of 250 S. Pearl St., Shamokin, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with driving under the influence of alcohol, a red light violation and careless driving relating to a vehicle stop at 10:26 p.m. Saturday at Market and Lincoln streets.

Police said Kristoff refused to submit to a blood test.

Criminal mischief

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Shane Mowery has charged Joseph D. Barnes, 28, of 120 W. Willow St., Shamokin, with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct relating to a disturbance at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his home.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Barnes used a pipe bender to smash a $1,200 motor scooter owned by Angelina Raygoza, causing damage to the windshield, gas tank and handle bar area.

Police said Barnes, who was screaming and cursing, had to be told by police several times to stop her behavior while being taken into custody.

Harassment

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Lindsay Hager, of Sunbury, was cited by state police at Stonington with harassment after allegedly shoving the victim, Brittany Farnsworth, of Sunbury, at their residence at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.

PFA violation

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Mark Costa has charged Carl Marchetti, 54, of 620 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, for violating a protection from abuse order involving an incident at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at 453 S. Shamokin St.

Police said Marchetti, who was prohibited by court order from contacting his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Miller, left several threatening and vulgar messages on her cell and land line phones.

DUI offenses

SHAMOKIN - Laura Lee Wheary, 36, of 1224 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and impeding traffic by driving at a very slow speed.

The charges relate to a March 29 incident at Market and Independence streets.

Police said Wheary had a blood alcohol content of .226 percent.

Craft items stolen

THARPTOWN - Lisa Navarro, 53, of 903 Center St., Tharptown, told police someone entered her garage during the past 10 days and removed several craft items and Halloween supplies having an approximate value of $3,225.

Retail theft

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Casey Gray, 19, of Port Royal, and a female juvenile from Port Royal were charged by state police at Selinsgrove with retail theft for allegedly stealing $157 worth of merchandise from Boscov's at the Susquehanna Valley Mall at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Cited again

MOUNT CARMEL - Jeremy M. Cleary, 36, of Northumberland, and Todd K. Williams, 51, of Montandon, were held for court Wednesday morning by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones on a charge of criminal trespass.

They were charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell with trespassing in February at a condemned property at 101 W. Girard St., Atlas, that was damaged by fire.

Cleary and Williams, who represented themselves at the preliminary hearing, were ordered to appear for arraignment May 12 in the Court of Common Pleas, Sunbury.

Drivers injured

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Two drivers suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday on Route 147 at the intersection with Route 225.

State police at Stonington said a 2007 Ford Focus, driven by Ralph E. Wert, 86, of Dalmatia, pulled from a stop sign at the intersection of Route 147 and 225 and struck a 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by Henry J. Carl, 85, of Herndon, in the front passenger side.

Wert was treated for a head laceration by Americus Ambulance and was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for evaluation. Carl suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene. A passenger in Carl's vehicle, Jennie Carl, 82, of Herndon, was not injured.

Police cited Wert for a stop sign violation.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Calonia E. Rowe, 74, of 566 Pine St., Kulpmont, was charged with driving under the influence, driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving following the investigation into a two-vehicle accident on Route 61, near Tomol's Auto Sales, at 11:17 a.m. on Jan. 24.

According to court documents filed by Mount Carmel Township Police Officer Daniel Politza, John Kobilis Jr., of Wilburton, was driving a Ford Explorer north on Route 61 when he observed a silver Ford station wagon, driven by Rowe, cross the center yellow line into his lane of travel. Kobilis told police he attempted to swerve to avoid being hit, but was unsuccessful.

Rowe was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police were notified Rowe possessed several Fentanyl patches and admitted to taking a Percocet that day.

A blood sample was taken from Rowe at the hospital and tested positive for oxycodone.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 28.

Drug charges

KULPMONT - Borough police officer Patrick McAndrew charged William R. Cole, 44, currently incarcerated in Clinton County Prison, with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child following an incident at a Pine Street home March 6.

Police found Cole unconscious in the bathroom, and while EMS tended to Cole, the officer allegedly observed a hypodermic needle, a spoon with burnt residue and three packets believed to have been used to package heroin.

A witness at the scene said Cole's two young children went to the witness' residence and said their father was locked in the bathroom and wouldn't open the door. The witness kicked open a bathroom door and found Cole unconscious.

Cole was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and was placed in custody on $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 16.

Two-vehicle crash

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:17 a.m. Sunday on Route 61 near Klinger Road.

State police at Stonington report a 2004 Chevrolet 2500 truck, driven by Ray Bloom, 80, of Sunbury, and a 2004 Ford Focus, driven by Edward W. Padlo III, 52, of Sunbury, were both traveling north on Route 61. The Focus was in front of the truck. When Padlo tried to make a left turn into his driveway, Bloom rear-ended the Focus.

No one was injured in the crash, but both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police cited Bloom for failure to drive at a safe speed and for an expired registration on the tri-axle trailer he was pulling.

Firearms violation

TREVORTON - State police said a known suspect attempted to purchase a Taurus pistol at Baits, Barrels and Bows, of 229 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, Oct. 17, but was denied through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System background check. Police said the investigation continues.

MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court on Monday, May 19, in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Christa M. Anzalone, 35, of 131 W. Third St., Apartment 1, Mount Carmel, waived charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

She was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. David Donkochik following an incident at her residence March 17 when police said she failed to take care of her three-year-old child.

Anzalone also waived two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, those charges filed by Borough Police Chief Todd Owens following a March 15 incident at her residence.

n Charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities and criminal trespass against Kevin D. Mashburn, 36, of 308 Lower Mulberry St., Danville, were ordered bound to court by Jones after Mashburn failed to appear in court.

Mashburn was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Kelly Campbell following a trespassing incident near SOS Metals on Route 54 in Mount Camrel Township Feb. 23.

n Joseph V. Payne, 29, of 916 E. Chestnut St., Shamokin, waived charges of driving under the influence, careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Kulpmont Police Officer Patrick McAndrew filed the charges following his investigation into a March 7 accident involving Payne's vehicle and two parked cars in the 900 block of Chestnut Street.

n Charges of driving under the influence, driving on roadways laned for traffic, failure to use restraint systems on a child under four years old, driving while operating privilege is suspended and failure to give notice of a change of address were waived to court by Wade J. Smink, 39, with a last known address of 1564 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township.

The charges stem from a Nov. 19 accident on State Route 901 in Mount Carmel Township and were filed by Mount Carmel Township Police Department Patrolman David Stamets Jr.

Car, cycle crash

ELYSBURG - Two people were treated for injuries after a car and motorcycle collided April 3 at the intersection of East Valley Avenue (Route 487) and Northumberland Drive.

Police said Alexandra Girardi, 20, of Elysburg, pulled her 2004 Volkswagen Jetta from Northumberland Drive onto East Valley Avenue at 10:16 p.m. into the path of a northbound 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Larry McClelland, 53, of Nescopeck.

McClelland was transported by Elysburg Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he underwent emergency room treatment. Girardi suffered minor injuries and was taken by a family member to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

The car and motorcycle sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.

Indecent assault

ASHLAND - Borough police charged Shawn Schlaugh, 20, of 708 Center St., Ashland, with indecent assault, after an incident involving a 14-year-old female, and said additional charges are pending against Schlaugh on four separate incidents involving minor females.

Schlaugh was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Christine Hale, of Frackville, and placed in Schuylkill County Prison on $15,000 cash bail.

Simple assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Herndon man faces charges of simple assault and harassment following an assault at a Tioga Street trailer at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Coal Township Police patrolman Edward Purcell reported in court documents Zachary Troutman, 31, of 130 S. Main St., allegedly punched Tiffany Troutman in the face while the two were in a car traveling to her father's house. While Tiffany Troutman was running away from the vehicle, Zachary Troutman allegedly said he was going to kill her if she didn't get back in the vehicle.

Later in the day, Tiffany Troutman was talking on her phone when Zachary took the phone and hit her in the face before leaving the scene, police said. Tiffany Troutman suffered an injury to her eye.

Zachary Troutman was arraigned Thursday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing before Gembic is scheduled for Tuesday.

DUI

ATLAS - Jamie M. Bressi, 37, of 507 E. Clermont St., Marion Heights, was charged with driving under the influence and failing to stop at a stop sign by Mount Carmel Township Police following a traffic stop at 1:12 a.m. March 23, at Willow Street and Columbia Avenue, Atlas. Chemical testing showed Bressi's blood alcohol level was .174 percent, more than twice the legal limit.

Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7 before Jones.

Liquor law violation

MONTOURSVILLE - Liquor law violations were filed by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement against the Sons of Poland Beneficial Society, 21 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel.

The establishment was cited Thursday for failure to require patrons to vacate the bar not later than a half-hour after liquor sales should cease. The alleged incident occurred March 2.

DUI

LOCUST GAP - Michael Grommett, 29, of 115 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was charged with driving under the influence, driving a vehicle without registration, driving without an inspection sticker and failure to produce a license and registration when asked by an officer following a traffic stop on Route 901 between Locust Summit and Locust Gap at 11:20 a.m. March 28.

Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Matthew Filarski reported in court documents Grommett also refused to submit to field sobriety, breath or chemical blood tests. Police said Grommett said "just organized gangsters trying to extract money from citizens."

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7 before Jones.

Rings stolen

SUNBURY - James Herbert Mellowship, 84, of 450 Park Drive, reported $900, a gold ring with a purple stone and a gold ring jacket set containing a clear diamond was stolen from his home between 7 a.m. Feb. 22 and 8:44 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Stonington at 570-286-5601.

Littering

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 14-year-old township male was cited by Patrolman Chad Yoder for scattering rubbish for allegedly throwing a cup against a window at McDonald's Restaurant, Route 61, about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Mower theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Kenneth Yoder, 62, of 1527 W. Water St., reported a red push lawn mower, a flashing street sign and four sheets of blue corrugated metal roofing were stolen from the rear porch of 1525 W. Water St. during the past month. The items are valued at $190.

Mustang kicked

KULPMONT - Eric Filipczak, 19, of 301 Melrose St., Marion Heights, said an unidentified white male kicked the front bumper of his 2014 Ford Mustang in the Turkey Hill parking lot, Chestnut Street, at 12:55 a.m. Friday before fleeing the scene. Damage is estimated at $100.

Driver not hurt

JACKSON TOWNSHIP - Roger J. Hughes, 49, of Herndon, escaped injury Friday morning when the 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck he was driving drifted off Herndon Bypass Road near Stomp Lane and struck a drainage ditch after the driver fell asleep.

State police at Stonington said Hughes was traveling west at 1:16 a.m. when the accident occurred.

Hughes, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for failure to drive in a single lane.

Trevorton Ambulance personnel assisted at the scene.

DUI

SUNBURY - Michael Joseph Runko, 27, of 6 King Ave., Sunbury, will be charged by state police at Stonington with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and related offenses in connection with a traffic stop shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday on Packer Street near Sixth Street.

During the traffic stop, police found Runko to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Runko was placed under arrest and transported to Sunbury Community Hospital for blood testing.

Harassment

MANDATA - State police at Stonington have cited a 15-year-old female student at Line Mountain High School for punching two other 15-year-old girls and pulling their hair at 10 a.m. Friday at the high school.

The teen was cited for two counts of harassment.

Route 15 accident

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Patricia L. Robinson, 58, and her passenger, Sharee T. Franklin, 38, both of Harrisburg, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident Saturday morning along Routes 11-15 near North Susquehanna Trail.

State police at Selinsgrove reported Robinson was driving a 1999 Toyota Rav4 north at 8:29 a.m. onto the off ramp of Routes 11-15 to Susquehanna Trail, but failed to negotiate a left curve, causing her vehicle to exit the road and strike a tree before rolling over.

Robinson and Franklin were transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Robinson was cited by Trooper Matthew Brown for failure to drive in a single lane.

Motorcyclist injured

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident along Route 890 near Grant Street in this Northumberland County township.

State police at Stonington reported Donald P. Vought, 52, of Sunbury, was driving a 2005 Ford 500 north shortly after 2 p.m. when he attempted to make a left turn, but drove into the path of a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle driven south on Route 890 by Patricia L. Brandt, 32, of Montandon, resulting in a minor collision.

After impact, police said Brandt reportedly lost control of her motorcycle and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven behind Vought's car by John W. Reeder III, 49, of Sunbury.

Brandt suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. A hospital spokeswoman said Brandt was in critical condition Sunday.

Vought, Reeder and two passengers in Reeder's vehicle, Janice L. Reeder, 55, of Sunbury, and a 4-year-old boy escaped injury.

An investigation is continuing.

Burglary

TREVORTON - State police at Stonington reported burglary and other charges are pending against Karl David Knoebel Jr., 48, of Trevorton, who allegedly entered the home of Brian Eugene Kinn, 49, of 1034 W. Market St., Trevorton, without his permission at 1:25 p.m. Friday, grabbed his shirt and kicked him in the foot.

Police said Knoebel also hit Kinn's laptop computer.

Scrap metal stolen

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported someone stole scrap metal from property owned by Roy Maurer, 56, of Dalmatia, along Malta Road between 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday.

Motorcyclist injured

CENTER TOWNSHIP - Jeremy D. Smith, 33, of Middleburg, was listed in serious condition Sunday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after being injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday night along Middle Road, approximately one-tenth of a mile west of Bucksey Road.

State police at Selinsgrove reported Smith was driving a 2004 Kawasaki ZZR east at 6:15 p.m. when he lost control of his cycle while negotiating a right curve. The cycle overturned onto its right side and slid off the road to the north, where it struck brush and trees before descending an embankment.

Smith, who was wearing a helmet, was transported from the scene by Penns Creek Ambulance to a landing zone before being flown by helicopter to Geisinger.

Harassment

LEWIS TOWNSHIP - A 16-year-old male from Muncy was cited by state police at Milton for harassment for allegedly making verbal threats of violence to a 16-year-old Watsontown male and a 15-year-old Muncy boy at Warrior Run High School at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

Unlawful contact with minor

HALIFAX - Dennis Lee Buffington, 67, of 200 Market St., Pillow, who allegedly was involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female for six to eight months, is in Dauphin County Prison after being charged by state police at Lykens with having unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, indecent exposure and possessing obscene material.

Upon being called to Kissinger Road at 8:12 p.m. Saturday for a suspicious vehicle, police spotted a truck parked behind the outfield fence at a ballfield, where they made contact with Buffington and the 16-year-old girl, who was hiding in the back seat.

Buffington claimed he was the girl's uncle, which turned out not to be true.

Police said Buffington and the teens were involved in sexual encounters in various locations in Dauphin County. They reported Buffington was found in possession of inappropriate pictures of the victim and allegedly texted the victim a picture of his penis.

Buffington was committed to prison in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
