Two-vehicle crash

DERRY TOWNSHIP ­- A Shamokin man was uninjured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. Thursday in the area of Continental Boulevard, near the intersection of Washingtonville Road, Derry Township, Montour County.

State police at Milton reported a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Carl L. Flora, 66, of Danville, was traveling on Washingtonville Road when he allegedly failed to stop for a red light. At that time, a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Kevin Mains, 59, of Shamokin, traveled east through the green signal and struck the Cavalier in the right passenger side door with its front.

Flora was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of a minor injury, while Mains was not hurt. Police cited Flora for failure to obey traffic signals.

Cited for crash

CRESSONA - A Mount Carmel man was charged with various traffic offenses following a crash on Chestnut Street at its intersection with Front Street in Cressona, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven report a 1995 Honda Civic, driven by Matthew J. Allen, 32, of Mount Carmel, was traveling north on Chestnut Street at approximately 3:05 p.m. Thursday when he allegedly failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, leaving the street and striking a traffic sign about five feet to the right of the road, knocking it over. Police said after the crash, Allen allegedly left the scene.

Police will charge Allen with driving on roadways laned for traffic and damage to unattended property or vehicle.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - Three females, a 14-year-old from Coal Township, a 14-year-old from Shamokin and a 13-year-old from Shamokin were charged with disorderly conduct by Coal Township Police following an incident on Feb. 8 when the three were fighting with each other in a stairwell, resulting in minor injuries.

Vehicle fire

COAL TOWNSHIP - Firefighters and police were called to the area of the Third Patch for a vehicle fire at 11:30 p.m. Friday evening, according to police.

The vehicle that caught fire, a 1994 Ford Explorer, is owned by Paul and Tammy Foulds, of Shamokin. Paul Foulds told police that Tammy was coming out toward the intersection known as the "Y" to meet with him because his other vehicle had broken down. While Tammy was driving the Explorer, the vehicle began to smoke and then caught fire.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - John D. Yoder, 62, of 144 S. Pearl St., was cited for disorderly conduct by Shamokin City Police Cpl. Darwin Tobias III after Yoder was allegedly observed urinating on a building in the area of Water and Cleaver streets at 7:10 p.m. Saturday.

Teen caught with alcohol

SHAMOKIN - A 16-year-old Coal Township female was cited by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Raymond Siko II for underage purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor, or a malt or brewed beverage after she was allegedly found in possession of some beer in the 200 block of Bear Valley Avenue at 1 a.m. Sunday.

Found property

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Toyota key fob was located in Ranshaw March 30. Anyone who may have lost the fob can contact Coal Township Police at 644-0333.

Theft charges

SUNBURY - Michael David Curran Jr., 31, of Wellsboro, has been charged by Trooper Daniel Wilk of state police at Stonington with theft, receiving stolen property and theft by deception involving the theft of jewelry, coins and knives.

Police reported Curran allegedly removed numerous pieces of jewelry, coins and knives from the residence of Joseph Hesson, 63, of 1817 State Route 61, Sunbury, in February and sold several of the items to Jasmine-Aire Boutique in Sunbury on Feb. 13, Feb. 16, Feb. 25 and March 5.

Two injured

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Two area residents were injured Monday in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction accident on the bridge along Route 61 near the Sunbury City line.

State police at Stonington reported Joshua J. Pickett, 20, of Trevorton, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado north at 5:18 p.m. when he failed to see other vehicles stopped in front of him. Police said Pickett's truck then struck a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Katherine L. Fiori, 65, of Sunbury, which was pushed into a 2012 Ford F-150 operated by Lewis J. Carl, 56, of Paxinos.

Fiori was injured and transported by Americus Ambulance of Sunbury to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where she was listed in fair condition Tuesday evening. Carl suffered a minor injury. Pickett escaped injury.

Pickett was cited by Trooper Marc Yemzow for a safe speed violation.

Pickett's truck and Fiori's car were towed from the scene by Paul's Auto Body of Sunbury.

Retail theft

SELINSGROVE - Elayne Crystal Browne, 34, of Sunbury, was charged by state police at Selinsgrove with retail theft for allegedly removing merchandise from Wal-Mart along Routes 11-15 at 6:45 p.m. Monday.

Traffic citations

SHAMOKIN - Jonathan L. Morgante, 28, of Mount Carmel, was cited by Trooper David Townsend, state police at Stonington, for driving a vehicle without inspection and driving in the wrong lane related to a two-vehicle crash Thursday on Route 61 in Paxinos.

Morgante was driving north in a 2004 GMC Envoy when he struck an oncoming 1994 Mack CL-700. He was treated for injuries and released from Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township. The Mack's driver was not injured.

Punched in face

SHAMOKIN - Shane McKay Brosious, 25, of 233 Center St., Tharptown, was cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for harassment and criminal mischief for allegedly punching David Brightbill, 23, of 203 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, in the face at Brightbill's residence at 11:15 p.m. March 15.

Police said Brightbill's glasses broke during the disturbance, causing $210 damage.

Criminal trespass

SHAMOKIN - Scott Dannheimer, 24, of 813 Oneida St., Shamokin and his 17-year-old brother were cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for criminal trespass for entering a property in the 200 block of South Pearl Street owned by Michael Geiswite, 42, and refusing to leave shortly before 7 p.m. Monday.

Police said the juvenile also threatened Geiswite.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Dwayne Harkes, 42, of 505 S. Market St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for public drunkenness in connection with an incident at 6:39 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of South Market Street.

Elysburg women involved in crash

FRACKVILLE - Two Elysburg women were not injured in a crash on South Lehigh Avenue, at the intersection with Altamont Boulevard in West Mahanoy Township at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday.

State police at Frackville said a 2003 Ford Ranger, driven by John C. Shuster, 57, of Pottsville, was traveling south on South Lehigh Avenue while a 1997 Subaru Impreza, driven by Cynthia C. Wemple, 51, of Elysburg, was traveling north on the same road. When the two vehicles approached the intersection with Altamont Boulevard, Shuster turned left, impeding the path of the Impreza.

The two vehicles collided as the front of the Ranger struck the left front of the Impreza, disabling both vehicles. Shuster was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Campus for treatment of his injuries while Wemple and her passenger, Melissa Heintzelman, 27, of Elysburg, were not injured. Police said Shuster will be cited for a traffic violation.

Assisting police at the scene were members of the Altamont Volunteer Fire Company.

Drug charges pending

SHAMOKIN - Drug charges are pending against a 20-year-old city man after state police said he was found Sunday with $3,775 worth of heroin, marijuana and prescription pills.

Cpl. George Ritchey, state police at Stonington, said in a public information report that he observed Jeremy John Rickert driving a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker at North Shamokin and Race streets about 5:20 p.m.

Ritchey said when he exited his vehicle to order Rickert to pull over, Rickert accelerated across the intersection and drove head-on into a utility pole. He was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

Ritchey says Rickert was found in possession of 116 bags of heroin, 55 Percocet pills (a prescription pain reliever) 9.5 grams of marijuana and $1,035 cash.

Charges are pending results of the investigation.

Two-vehicle crash

SUNBURY - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on Route 147 near the Packer Island entrance to the Shikellamy State Park Marina.

State police at Stonington said a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo driven by Tyler Shambach, 21, of Northumberland, was stopped in the southbound lane when it was rear-ended by a 2010 Ford Focus driven by Samantha Driebelbies, 26, of Williamsport.

Police said both occupants were wearing seat belts. Driebelbies will be cited.

Criminal mischief

SELINSGROVE - Martin Scull, of Northumberland, was cited by state police at Selinsgrove for criminal mischief for allegedly kicking the side of a vehicle owned by Ryan Hahn, of Selinsgrove, causing damage.

The incident occurred at 6:23 p.m. March 22 in the parking lot of Wal-Mart along Routes 11-15, according to police.

Bleacher theft

AUBURN - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of 17, 18-foot aluminum bleacher planks from Auburn Memorial Park along Pearson Street. Police said the planks were stolen between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1.

Careless driving

HUMMELS WHARF - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Routes 11-15 near Monroe Marketplace.

State police at Selinsgrove said Timothy S. Karr, 66, of Danville, was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg in the left southbound lane about 9 a.m. when, while stopped for congested traffic, his vehicle was struck from behind by a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Dean A. Frey, 22, of Bloomsburg.

The Jetta sustained major damage and was towed. The Touareg sustained minor damage.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Frey will be cited for careless driving.

Drug offenses

SHAMOKIN - Brandon M. Garancheski, 19, of 509 S. Seventh St., Shamokin, has been charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possessing five Suboxone tablets, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and a lighting violation relating to an incident early Easter morning in the 700 block of Bear Valley Avenue.

Forges prescription

COAL TOWNSHIP - Megan E. Holliday, 22, of 163 Colonial Ave., Natalie, was charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with forging a prescription slip given to her by a doctor. Police said Holliday changed the number of Tylenol 3 pills from 18 to 48 pills and attempted to have the prescription filled at Wal-Mart Supercenter on Route 61 on March 27.

Theft from a vehicle

TREVORTON - Zerbe Township Police are investigating the theft of stereo equipment taken from a parked vehicle between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on Scott Street.

Matthew A. Wolfe, 32, of 731 Scott St., Trevorton, told police that someone entered his vehicle and took a purple iPod and cord, a 15-inch Rockford Foss subwoofer in a wooden box, a 1700-watt Kenwood amplifier, two 12-inch JMA audio speakers and a quarter-inch Craftsman socket set. Total value is approximately $500.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Zerbe Township Police at 797-4637.

Theft charges

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Darwin Tobias III has charged Carlos Perez, 24, of 21 E. Church St., Shamokin, with theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct involving a March 27 disturbance near his home.

Police reported Perez and Kenneth S. Ross, of 733 Pine St., Kulpmont, are accused of stealing three guitars and an amplifier owned by Perez's brother, Shane Perez, also of 21 E. Church St.

Ross was previously charged in the incident.

Vehicle damaged

TREVORTON - Carol Hertzog, 40, of 439 W. Saylor St., Atlas, told police someone shot BBs into her 2000 Dodge Ram truck while it was parked for several weeks on Carol Whary's property at 439 Trevorton Road. The front windshield, sun visor, front grill fender and front bumper were damaged, she told police.

Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to call Zerbe Township Police at 797-4637.

Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Anthony Cancellier, 19, of 1707 Mohawk St., Coal Township, with possession of marijuana and Clonzazepam and possession of drug paraphernalia involving a March 30 incident in the first block of East Cameron Street.

Theft offenses

SHAMOKIN - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed by Cpl. Bryan Primerano against Shannon M. Shaw, 26, of 447 S. Harrison St., Shamokin.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shaw is accused of stealing $15 from the front door of Angela Klick, of 200 S. Coal St., Shamokin, on March 26.

Trailer spills feed

BUFFALO TOWNSHIP - Jody L. Mease, 51, of Dalmatia, escaped injury late Wednesday night when a trailer he was operating rolled over at the intersection of Colonel John Kelly Road and Miller Road, causing it to spill pig feed in this Union County township.

State police at Milton reported Mease was turning his 2000 Mack truck from Colonel John Kelly Road onto Miller Road at 10:06 p.m. when the soft shoulder on the road caused his trailer to roll over, spill pig feed and snap a utility pole.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - Dale Hart, 51, of 1001 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, was charged by Coal Township police with harassment for allegedly punching a 17-year-old Elysburg male in the face at 11:55 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot at Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61.

Police said the confrontation occurred as a result of some careless driving on Route 61 prior to both individuals entering the parking lot.

The juvenile was not injured.

Two charged

COAL TOWNSHIP - Ashley Carl, 19, of 131 Iron St., Coal Township, and Angela Broscious, 38, of 126 Iron St., Coal Township, were cited by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky for harassment relating to a disturbance in front of Carl's residence at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Police reported Carl and Broscious are accused of threatening to harm Donna Shaffer, 35, of 46 W. Adams St., Shamokin.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Barry Spotts, 49, of 127 N. Marshall St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for disorderly conduct for allegedly screaming and banging on his neighbor's door at 129 N. Marshall St. at 7:46 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the victim of the disturbance was 49-year-old Kevin Derck.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Jimmie Brown, 28, of 30 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for harassment for allegedly shoving Donna McDonald, 30, of 550 N. Market St., Apt A-4, Shamokin, at McDonald's residence at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday.

Crash

SUNBURY - An 84-year-old Sunbury woman was driven by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a two-vehicle crash Friday on Route 890 in Rockefeller Township, about one mile southeast of the Sunbury city line.

State police at Stonington said Darlis E. Garman was stopped about noon at a stop sign on Kehres Road in a 2008 Cadillac CTS. In an attempt to turn left onto Route 890, police said she drove into the path of a southbound 2000 Dodge 2500 driven by Jonathan M. Malick Sr., 39, of Sunbury.

Garman was driven to the hospital by Americus Ambulance. The extent of her injuries were unknown, and a condition update was unavailable from the hospital.

Malick also was injured but refused treatment, police said.

Both were wearing seat belts.

Garman will be cited for a stop sign violation.

Public disturbance

MOUNT CARMEL - A 15-year-old Atlas male was cited for disorderly conduct for an alleged disturbance about 7:20 p.m. March 15 in the first block of East Avenue.

Patrolman Jason Drumheller said the teen caused a public disturbance at a borough resident's home that was witnessed by neighbors.

Punched in face

MOUNT CARMEL - A 12-year-old borough male was cited for disorderly conduct for allegedly attacking a fellow 12-year-old boy at about 7:40 p.m. March 15 near Railroad and Maple streets.

Patrolman Jason Drumheller said the accused attacker punched the boy in the face and slammed his head off the ground.

Accused of harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - A 62-year-old borough woman was cited for allegedly harassing a resident of Mount Carmel Mid-Rise last month.

Cpl. Dave Donkochik said Kathy M. Persing, of 315 S. Hickory St., Apt. 513, was warned to cease contact with the Mid-Rise resident after an incident on March 1. Police were again contacted by the alleged victim on March 21 for another incident, prompting the citation against Persing.

Climbs gazebo

MOUNT CARMEL - A 16-year-old borough male was cited by Cpl. Dave Donkochik for disorderly conduct for allegedly climbing to the roof of the gazebo in Town Park at about 7:30 p.m. March 21.

Domestic incident

MOUNT CARMEL - A 50-year-old borough woman is accused of injuring her 76-year-old boyfriend during a dispute at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in their 221 N. Park St. residence.

Police Chief Todd Owens cited Susan J. Kline for allegedly causing a minor neck injury to William Rennard. She was cited for harassment.

Owens was assisted by Patrolman Jason Drumheller.

Equipment stolen

DORNSIFE - A gas-powered generator and two chainsaws were reported stolen from a Dornsife man's pickup.

Robert Wolfe, of State Road, told state police at Stonington that the thefts occurred between March 29 and Friday while his truck was parked on State Road.

The 1,000-watt Honda generator is valued at $800 and two Stihl chainsaws at $600.

Condition update

DANVILLE - A Sunbury woman injured Friday in a two-vehicle accident near Sunbury remains hospitalized at Geisinger Medical Center.

Darlis E. Garman, 84, was listed in serious condition Saturday by a nursing supervisor.

State police at Stonington say Garman pulled from Kehres Road onto Route 890 in a 2008 Cadillac CTS and drove into the oncoming path of a 2000 Dodge 2500, whose driver refused medical treatment for a minor injury.

Brush fire

BIG MOUNTAIN - Firefighters worked for several hours Monday night to extinguish a brush fire on a culm bank south of this Coal Township village. The fire appeared to have ignited from a pile of burning trash left unattended. No structures were in danger.

DUI

WICONISCO TOWNSHIP - Dustin Brosius, 24, of Herndon, was charged by state police at Lykens with driving under the influence of alcohol relating to a traffic stop at 11 p.m. Monday on Route 209 near Hill Street.

Police said Brosius was stopped in his pickup truck for a traffic violation. Police discovered open cans of alcohol in the truck and found Brosius to be under the influence of alcohol.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Mark Shuman, 54, of 1215 W. Mulberry St., told Coal Township Police someone shot the front window of his residence with a BB gun, causing damage to the window between 6 and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Ordinance violation

SHAMOKIN - William Andrews II, 22. of 2 W. Lincoln St., Apt. 3, was cited by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Shane Mowery for violating the city's animal ordinance by allowing his dog to defecate on a driveway at 244 W. Arch St. at 8:58 a.m. March 29.

One hurt

DELAWARE TOWNSHIP - A Mount Carmel woman sustained a minor injury in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on I-180 near mile marker 9, according to state police at Milton.

Trooper David Boucher said Ramon D. Weaver, 34, of Mount Carmel, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer west on I-180 along side Craig A. Harter, 43, of Northumberland, who was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Express in the same direction, at 12:35 p.m.

Weaver traveled into the left lane and struck the front passenger side of the Express with the back driver side of the Blazer, police said.

The Blazer spun around and traveled off the left side of the roadway and rolled onto its roof. Harter pulled his vehicle off to the right side of the roadway, police said.

The drivers were not injured. However, Weaver's passenger, Beth A. Hoschar, 21, of Mount Carmel, was injured but was not transported to a hospital.

All were wearing their seatbelts, police said.

Weaver was charged with careless driving.

Criminal trespass

MONROE TOWNSHIP - A Sunbury man was charged with criminal trespass for entering Walmart in Monroe Township Sunday night despite being banned from the store, according to state police in Selinsgrove.

Police reported that Ryan Newman, 18, of Sunbury, entered the store at 9:42 p.m. April 7, which defied an order given to him to not return to a store relating to a previous incident on March 11.

Credit card fraud

LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Benjamin M. Snyder, 27, of Sunbury, told state police at Stonington his credit card was used to purchase an Apple iPhone from Apple Online Store at 11:30 a.m. Thursday without his permission. His card was charged $422.94 without authorization. The investigation is continuing.

Rocks fall off truck

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP - Locust Township police are investigating an incident involving rocks falling from a dump truck and onto another vehicle and causing damage at 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Southern Drive (Route 487) near J&D Campground.

A motorist, who was not identified by police, said she was traveling toward Elysburg and approaching the curve when a large dump truck traveling in the opposite direction dropped some large rocks that landed in her lane of travel, causing damage to her vehicle.

Police said the dump truck may possibly be blue.

Accident victim serious

DANVILLE - Jessica Gavin, 37, of Schuylkill Avenue, Shenandoah, who was injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday night along Route 61 near Split Vein Coal Company in Ralpho Township, was in serious condition Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center.

Salvatore Bruno, of the same address, who was a passenger in Gavin's Land Rover, underwent emergency room treatment at Geisinger before being released, according to a nursing supervisor. Gianna Bruno, 13, another passenger in the Land Rover, reportedly escaped injury since Geisinger had no record of her being treated at the medical center.

Motorcycle/car accident

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 42-year-old Coal Township man underwent emergency room treatment Saturday morning after being injured in a motorcycle-car crash in the 2000 block West State Street.

Joseph Purcell suffered a facial injury and was initially treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel before being transported by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where he underwent additional treatment before being released.

Deputy Police Chief Chris Williams reported Purcell was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on State Street at 8:51 a.m. when Colleen Gilgore, of 1524 Centre St., Ashland, who had been traveling west on State Street in her 2003 Kia Sorento, made a U-turn in front of Purcell's motorcycle, causing a collision.

Purcell's wife, Sheryl Purcell, who was a passenger on the cycle, and Gilgore escaped injury.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

Gilgore was cited for limitations on turning around.

In addition to medical personnel from AREA Services, also assisting at the scene were Coal Township fire chiefs Kevin Malukas and Michael Timco.

Drug possession

MANDATA - Trooper David Myers of state police at Stonington said charges are pending against a 17-year-old male from Sunbury for possessing a controlled substance involving an incident at 10:21 a.m. Friday at Line Mountain High School.

Police said the teen, who is a student at the school, was found in possession of a tablet suspected to be morphine.

Gun stolen

MAIZEVILLE - State police at Frackville reported someone smashed the passenger side window on a vehicle owned by Joanne Rodgers of Ashland and removed a Harrington & Richardson .22-caliber revolver between April 4 and Saturday while the vehicle was parked across from 1406 Railroad St.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call state police at 570-874-5300.

Rollover crash

DELAWARE TOWNSHIP - Jorge L. Ortiz Rivera, 24, of Watsontown, suffered moderate injuries in a rollover accident on Interstate 180 near Sulphur Spring Hollow Road Saturday morning in this Northumberland County township.

According to state police at Milton, Ortiz Rivera was driving a 1994 Toyota Corolla east in the right lane at 7:38 a.m. near mile marker 8 when his car crossed into the left lane, started spinning and exited the left side of the highway. The passenger side quarter panel bumper then struck an embankment, causing the car to roll over several times before coming to rest on its wheels.

The auto was towed from the scene.

Ortiz Rivera was cited for careless driving.

Two-vehicle crash

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Police here are investigating a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning at the intersection of Route 487 and Industrial Park Road involving one injury.

Police said Karen Haines, of Tioga Street, Coal Township, was driving north on Route 487 at 11 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, which exited the right side of the road and struck a parked vehicle owned by Robert Brown of West Valley Avenue, Elysburg, which was parked in front of a residence.

Haines was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Elysburg and Ralpho fire departments, Elysburg fire police and Elysburg paramedics.

False reports

COAL TOWNSHIP - Erica Kenenitz, 24, of Mount Carmel, has been charged by Patrolman Joshua Wynn with unsworn falsification to authorities and false reports for providing to police verbal and written statements she knew to be false.

Kenenitz is accused of making a report to Coal Township police on April 4 and falsely implicated a person committing a violation against her minor child.

Trash accumulation

COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Chris Lapotsky has cited James Dangler, 33, of 931 W. Pine St., Coal Township, for allowing waste and debris to accumulate on his property.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Damian Ray Stout, 28, of 1116 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for public drunkenness relating to a disturbance at 10:50 p.m. April 11 in the 500 block of North Market Street.

Police said Stout attempted to rip out signs.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Jocelyn Marie Sherman, 21, of 1109 W. Arch St., Apt. B, Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Shane Mowery for retail theft for allegedly stealing $47.62 in merchandise from the Fun Shop on West Independence Street at 2:15 p.m. March 25.

Squeals tires

SHAMOKIN - Michael Deeter, 29, of 16 First St., P.O. Box 5, Wilburton, was cited by Patrolman Jarrod Scandle for disorderly conduct for allegedly squealing his tires for approximately 20 feet on Independence Street near Eighth Street at 2:10 a.m. Sunday.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Nathan Rhodes has charged Joseph Witkowski, 26, of 640 Chestnut St., Apt. 6, Kulpmont, with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to an April 8 incident in the first block of East Lincoln Street.

Police reported Witkowski had a hypodermic needle and spoon on his possession.

Criminal mischief

SHAMOKIN - Charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct were filed by Patrolman Raymond Siko II against Christian Luke Dawson, 19, of 10 N. Seventh St., Apt. 2, Shamokin.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Dawson is accused of throwing lit cigarettes on the carpeted porch of his neighbor, Sue Belles, of 14 N. Seventh St., on April 1.

Police said the cigarettes burned the carpet, causing approximately $400 damage.

Minors cited

GREGG TOWNSHIP - Two females, a 17-year-old from Mount Carmel and a 16-year-old from Quarryville, were cited for harassment after the two engaged in a fight, first verbal and then physical, at the White Deer Run Treatment Center, in this Union County township, at 7:20 p.m. Sunday.

ID theft

SUNBURY - George Kahler, 49, of Captain Bloom Road, Sunbury, told state police at Stonington someone acquired his Social Security number and used it to file a federal tax return at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Purse stolen

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Sharon Harlos, 52, Sunbury, told state police at Stonington someone removed her purse from her vehicle while it was parked along Clay Pond Road between 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

Theft, drugs

WEST CHILLISQUAQUE TOWNSHIP - Joshua Allen Snyder, 21, of Milesburg, was arraigned at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.

Snyder is charged by Trooper Mark Reasner of state police at Milton with stealing a 32-inch Sceptre LCD television valued at $240 from the residence of his grandparents, John and Donna Huff, of 175 N. Astro Drive, at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Snyder was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

DUI offenses

STONINGTON - Vincent James Bressi, 58, of 521 Webster St., Ranshaw, was charged by Cpl. George Ritchey of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and driving with an inoperable brake light relating to a Feb. 15 incident at the intersection of Scott Street and Route 890 in Zerbe Township.

Police reported Bressi had a blood-alcohol content of .148 percent.

DUI

STONINGTON - Trooper Mark Adams of state police at Stonington has charged Francis R. Sobol, 55, of Green Springs, Ohio, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to possess a registration card, failure to notify police of a change of name or address, failure to drive in a single lane, a turn signal violation, depositing waste or other material on a highway, careless driving and a seat belt violation.

Sobol, who had a blood-alcohol content of .235 percent, was charged in connection with a traffic stop on Route 901 near Excelsior.

Interferes with custody

KULPMONT - Alan K. Pollock, 48, of 622 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, has been charged by Patrolman Joshua Pastucka with interfering with the custody of children and concealment of the whereabouts of a child relating to a March 15 incident.

According to a criminal complaint, Pollock is accused of taking a minor female with him to testify in court without the permission of the girl's parents.

DUI, speeding

KULPMONT - Samantha L. Joseph, 20, of 225 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Joshua Pastucka with driving under the influence of Delta-9 Carboxy THC, an active component of marijuana and cannabis, unauthorized use or transfer of registration, driving an unregistered vehicle and speeding relating to a Feb. 15 traffic stop on Route 61 at the entrance to Strong.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Leon L. Fite Jr., 30, of 620 N. Cleaver St., Apt. 10, Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving without a license, overtaking a vehicle on the left and failure to drive in a single lane relating to a March 7 accident on Route 901 near Excelsior.

Police reported Fite was found to be driving under the influence of Lorazepam, Clonazepam, Alprazolam, Oxycodone and Cyclobenzaprine.

Driving charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Cheryl L. Twiggs, 49, of 250 S. Poplar St., Apt. 4A, Mount Carmel, has been charged by Patrolman Daniel Politza with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, careless driving and driving at an unsafe speed.

Police said the charges relate to a Feb. 8 two-vehicle accident in the 800 block of West Fifth Street that injured pedestrian Gerard Koveleskie, of Mount Carmel.

Police reported Twiggs had a blood-alcohol content of .145 percent and also was driving under the influence of Cotinine, Nicotine, Theobromine, Delta-9 Carboxy THC, Oxycodone and Paroxetine.

Simple assault

M0UNT CARMEL - Patrolman Jason Drumheller has charged Joseph R. McClain-Broden, 23, of 134 S. Oak St., Apt. B, Second Floor, Mount Carmel, with two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment relating to an April 8 disturbance at 136 S. Oak St.

Police reported McClain-Broden is accused of assaulting Mark Lender, who suffered contusions to his eyes and face and back and rib pain.

Possession

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 15-year-old Shamokin male is charged by Coal Township Police with possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly being found in possession of two smoking pipes April 10.

Safe stolen

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - A small safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash along with deeds and other paperwork was reported stolen from a home on Trevorton Road.

Robert Kerstetter, 62, of 670 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, told Zerbe Township Police someone broke into his home between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday and ransacked several rooms.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Dwayne Harkes, 42, of 505 S. Market St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, driving without insurance and careless driving relating to a March 31 accident at Market and Lincoln streets.

Police reported Harkes had a blood-alcohol content of .355 percent.

Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Vernon L. Hoke Jr., 33, of 716 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility relating to an April 11 incident at his home.

Police reported Hoke delivered five 15 mg Oxycodone tablets to a confidential informant.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Knock, 22, of 14 S. Willow St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving relating to a March 23 accident on Route 2026 in Coal Run.

Police reported Knock was driving west at 3:47 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, which struck two parked vehicles and a utility pole. The parked vehicles were owned by Prena and Aleksander Kolovic, both of 317 State Route 2026, Coal Run.

Police blotter retraction

COAL TOWNSHIP - Steven Robert Knock, 22, of 14 S. Willow St., Mount Carmel, is charged with driving under the influence and careless driving related to a March 23 accident on Route 2026 in Coal Run. His first name, Steven, had not initially been provided by the police and Robert Knock was incorrectly listed as the person charged in Friday's edition.

Two-vehicle crash

JACKSON TOWNSHIP - A passanger was taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for precautionary reasons following a two-vehicle crash on Route 225 near the White Oak Tavern at approximately 1:05 p.m. Sunday.

State police at Stonington report a 1996 Subaru Legacy, driven by Bridget Mae Laudenslager, 19, of Herndon, was traveling south on Route 225 when it struck a 1998 Buick, driven by Doris Glace, 77, of Dalmatia, as it was turning into a driveway. A passenger in Glace's car, Miriam Adams, 87, of Dalmatia, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Assisting police at the scene were members of the Herndon, Lower Mahanoy and Pillow fire companies and Americus Ambulance.

Disorderly conduct

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - James R. Leaman Jr., 41, of Halifax, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass following an incident at 7:46 p.m. at The Skatery skating rink.

Police say Leaman allegedly failed to obey the posted rules and regulations of the establishment, and then refused to leave when asked to do so.
