Girl hurt in crash

AUGUSTAVILLE - A 17-year-old Shamokin girl was injured Saturday after crashing a sport utility vehicle along Captain Bloom Road in Rockefeller Township.

Trooper James Yankovich, of the state police at Stonington, reported the teenager was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee north about 11:35 a.m. when she traveled off the east berm. She re-entered the road and then exited the west berm, where she struck a tree and traveled into a ditch before the vehicle flipped onto its roof.

The girl told state police she was wearing a seat belt. She was driven by Americus Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Yankovich described her injuries as moderate.

She will be cited for a traffic violation.

Also assisting at the scene were Stonington Fire Company, Friendship Hose Company and East Sunbury Fire Company.

State police generally do not release the names of minors involved in police incidents.

Home entry

KULPMONT - A borough woman reported someone gained entry to her home early Friday.

The incident occurred at the home of April Zupicich, 1120 Poplar St., about 5:10 a.m., according to Trooper David Myers, of state police at Stonington.

The trooper did not indicate in a public information report if anything was stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 286-5601.

City bar cited

SHAMOKIN - State liquor control agents filed two citations against a city bar for alleged violations from earlier this year.

Quinny's Pub, 300 S. Market St., was cited by agents from the Williamsport office of Liquor Control Enforcement with selling alcohol to minors and serving a visibly intoxicated patron. The agency said the alleged incidents occurred on Jan. 13 and other occasions.

License citation

TREVORTON - Sarah C. Hueston, 22, of Shamokin, was cited by Trooper George R. Ritchey, of state police at Stonington, for driving with a suspended license following an incident Friday in Zerbe Township.

Drives through front yard

SUNBURY - A 21-year-old Selinsgrove man is accused of leaving tire ruts in an Upper Augusta Township man's front yard late Saturday.

Trooper David A. Myers, state police at Stonington, said in a public information report that Hayden E. Conrad, 21, drove through the yard of Roger Maurer, 61, about 10:30 p.m. along Route 147.

Tires cut

COAL TOWNSHIP - Crystal Mrowka, 36, of 1517 W. Arch St., Coal Township, reported someone cut a tire on her vehicle while it was parked in the 1500 block of West Water Street between Sunday and Monday.

Deb Bendas, 41, of 1616 W. Arch St., Coal Township, told police someone cut two tires on her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence during the same time.

LCB violations

WILLIAMSPORT - The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited Centralia Legion Memorial Association in Conyngham Township, The Olive Garden Italian Restaurant in Bloomsburg and CASA Sanchez Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Shamokin Dam for violations.

The Centralia Legion was cited for possessing or operating gambling devices or parapahernalia or permitting gambling or lotteries, pool selling and/or bookmaking on its premises Jan. 20.

The Olive Garden and CASA Sanchez were cited for selling or furnishing liquor and/or malt or brewed beverages to a minor Feb. 7 and Jan. 15, respectively.

All the citations were issued March 7.

Contraband

COAL TOWNSHIP - Tina Marie Hoskins-Knight, 30, of Philadelphia, has been charged by Trooper Brian Ronk of state police at Stonington with contraband and possession of Suboxone relating to a Dec. 16 incident in the visitor's parking lot at SCI-Coal Township.

Police said 10 Suboxone pills packaged in a balloon-like material were found in an envelope in a purse belonging to Hoskins-Knight.

Tables stolen

HICKORY CORNERS - Theresa Yerger, of Dalmatia, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 7 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday, someone came onto her property at Dairy Road, Hickory Corners, and removed a white wicker coffee table and a redwood end table from her porch. The items are valued at $150.

Harassment by prisoner

COAL TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington have charged an inmate with aggravated harassment by a prison after an incident at SCI-Coal Township at 8:39 p.m. March 6.

Police said an inmate, described in a press release as a black male, threw or tossed a liquid substance on correctional officer Damien Kratz while he was performing a security round at the prison. The investigation remains open while the liquid is being tested.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Todd Hummel, 46, of 124 E. Chestnut St., was cited by city police for disorderly conduct and harassment after allegedly punching Eric Carmen, 20, of Shamokin, and threatening him, using obscentities on a public street at 5:01 p.m. Saturday in the area of Independence and Ninth streets. The citations were filed by Shamokin City Police Cpl. Darwin Tobias III.

Endangering child

SNYDERTOWN - State police at Stonington continue to investigate an incident of child endangerment that occurred at 7:16 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Kampco, 1405 Snydertown Road, Upper Augusta Township.

Police were called to the scene on a report of an unattended four-year-old walking on Snydertown Road. Prior to police arriving, the child was picked up by an unknown person, and later found at his parents' residence.

A preliminary investigation showed that one of the parents drove to a set of storage units near Kampco and had accidently locked the child and the keys in the vehicle. The child was then left unattended while the parent talked to their residence near Oaklyn, and while the parent was gone, the child got out of the car and began walking on Snydertown Road.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - City police cited two juveniles for retail theft in separate incidents involving the Dollar General store on Independence Street.

Cpl. Darwin Tobias III cited a 14-year-old Coal Township male after he allegedly stole a $2 item from the store at 8:17 p.m. March 6.

A 16-year-old Shamokin male was cited by Patrolman William Zalinski after allegedly taking $1.26 worth of candy from the story at 2:29 p.m. on Feb. 18.

Waives hearing

SHAMOKIN - Alicia N. Bordner, 21, of 715 N. Vine St., Shamokin, waived to court two counts of possession with intent to deliver morphine, possession of a counterfeit substance by an unauthorized person, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of certain solvents, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility.

The charges filed by Patrolman Raymond Siko II relate to a Nov. 21 incident in Shamokin.

Multiple assaults

SUNBURY - City police are actively investigating multiple assaults involving juveniles during the past several weeks before, during and after school hours near Shikellamy Middle/High School.

Police said school district officials, concerned citizens and multiple parents have cooperated throughout the investigation. Officers have utilized videos posted on Facebook, YouTube, as well as SMS Texting, eyewitnesses and other sources during the probe.

Multiple arrests are pending for conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Charges also are pending for juveniles promoting viral videos of the damaging events.

Police reported they are strongly promoting all initiatives to mitigate any bullying and fighting among youths.

Driver 'serious'

TREVORTON - Kenneth J. Duitch, 37, of Trevorton, suffered a neck injury in a one-car crash Wednesday night along Birch Road (Township Route 445) near Cedar Road.

State police at Stonington reported Duitch was driving a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder south at 6:19 p.m. when his vehicle exited the road after going over loose gravel while negotiating an uphill right curve. Police said Duitch attempted to regain control of the vehicle, which re-entered the road and traveled across both lanes before hitting a ditch with its front end. After striking the ditch, the Pathfinder rolled onto its driver's side before coming to rest.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Paul's Towing.

Duitch was transported by Americus Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was listed in serious condition Thursday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Also assisting were members of Stonington Fire Company, Trevorton Fire Company and Friendship Hose Co. 552, Sunbury.

Beer theft

ATLAS - Mark James Derr, 20, of 328 S. Grape St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by Mount Carmel Township Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush with theft, retail theft and receiving stolen property relating to a Jan. 8 incident at the Pine Burr along Route 61.

Police reported Derr is accused of stealing a six-pack of beer valued at $7.

Derr, who is on probation for another offense, was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and committed to Northumberland County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Burglary offenses

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Police here have charged Justin W. Cressinger, 25, of 1120 Rear West Front St., Lot 3, Berwick, with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Patrolman Christopher Grow, Cressinger allegedly entered the residence of Art Hower, 66 Circle View Drive, Elysburg, and stole a sweatshirt, a pair of Wolverine boots, a flashlight and a pair of camouflage pants. Police said the burglary occurred between Nov. 1 and 3.

Multiple charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Joshua Robert Potter, 20, of 439 Vine St., Sunbury, faces multiple charges involving incidents that occurred during the early-morning hours of Dec. 22 in the 300 block of East Center Street.

He is charged by Cpl. David Donkochik with two counts each of theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night and corruption of minors, and one count of possessing a prohibitive offensive weapon, possessing an instrument of crime and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported Potter and a 16-year-old male allegedly stole prescription medications from a car owned by Jerry Matzura, and money from a vehicle belonging to Kaitlyn Anderson.

Police said Potter and the juvenile were found hiding inside a vacant house shortly after the thefts. Upon being taken into custody, police found piles of change, gloves, a pistol pellet gun and drug paraphernalia, plus two knives, hand tools and a Dell laptop in Potter's backpack.

Potter was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and committed to county jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Heroin possession

MOUNT CARMEL - Adam Joseph Powell, 27, of 49 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of heroin relating to an incident March 21, 2012, at his residence.

Police reported Powell possessed eight bags of heroin.

Landlord citations

SHAMOKIN - Citations were filed against 11 city landlords for failing to obtain licenses for their rental properties.

Rick Bozza, code officer, filed the citations Thursday against George Atiyeh, of Allentown, Cheryl Daycock, of Leck Kill, Barry Getchey, of Shamokin, Walter Hyde, of Shamokin, Gloria Kallman, of Coal Township, Shawn Kallman, of Coal Township, Leona Mako, of Staffordsville, Va., William Maher, of Kulpmont, Anthony Rosini, of Danville, Jesse Vaughin, of Williamsport, and Randall Weiser, of Herndon.

The annual license fee is $25. Deadline to register was Feb. 15. City ordinance calls for fines between $100 and $500 for each day a landlord is in violation.

Teen kicks officer

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 15-year-old male student at Shamokin Area Middle/High School has been charged with kicking Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky during a disturbance at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the school.

Police said the Shamokin teen, who caused a disturbance, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was taken into custody and released to Northumberland County Juvenile Services.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Heather Ann Frank, 28, of 331 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with retail theft for allegedly stealing $102.06 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart Supercenter on Route 61 on Feb. 23.

Couple charged

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Lansford couple have been charged by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with stealing more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart Supercenter on Route 61 on Jan. 1.

Joseph M. Gannecilli, 37, and his wife, Kathleen M. Gannecilli, 41, are charged with misdemeanors of retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft.

According to a criminal complaint, the Gannecillis removed two shopping carts full of merchandise totaling $1,041.13 between 8:45 and 10:15 p.m. The couple left the store and walked to a van in the parking lot before being stopped by assistant manager Larry Pancher, who retrieved most of ther merchandise before the Gannecillis fled from the area in the van.

Police were able to identify the thieves through surveillance video at the store and vehicle registration obtained by Pancher.

MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court April 28 in Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

- Hassan Quarles, 45, of 901 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, pleaded guilty to one summary count of harassment and was ordered to pay a fine and costs totaling $605.90. Two counts of terroristic threats and another count of harassment were withdrawn.

Qaurles was charged by Kulpmont Patrolman Patrick McAndrew with threatening to shoot Joseph Drost II in the legs and calling his girlfriend, Isamar Hertzog, "an easy target," according to a criminal complaint.

The alleged incident occurred about 4:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at Turkey Hill Minit Market, 862 Chestnut St., when Drost confronted Quarles for repeatedly flirting with Hertzog.

- David X. Hernandez, 18, of 244 W. Cherry St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to a summary of disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a fine and costs totaling $605.90. Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were withdrawn.

Hernandez was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Matthew Dillman with stealing nine DVDs, blood pressure medications and Viagra tablets having a total value of $205. Police said the items were stolen from Abdul Faiz on Feb. 5 at 8 S. Oak St.

- Stacey L. Darginski, 27, of 310 Main St., Ranshaw, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year. An additional charge of possession of a controlled substance was withdrawn.

The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman David Stamets Jr. in connection with a March 12, 2012, incident at the intersection of Routes 901 and 54 near Boylan's Garage.

- Tyler Anthony Lenig, 25, of 2993 Lower Road, Shamokin, pleaded guilty to reckless driving and was ordered to pay a fine and costs totaling $302. Additional charges of criminal mischief, careless driving and recklessly endangering another person were withdrawn.

Lenig was charged by Trooper Todd Leiby of state police at Stonington in connection with a Jan. 16, 2011, road rage type incident along Routes 125, 2046 and 3004 in West Cameron Township.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Connie Jane Andrews, 46, of 347 E. Saylor St., was cited by borough police Patrolman Jason Drumheller for harassment after an investigation showed that she allegedlymade harassing calls to a borough resident 10 to 15 times a day from January through March 8.

The citation was filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Borough Police Patrolman Jason Drumheller cited Jedidiah D. Labella, 18, of 143 S. Locust St., for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking, following an incident at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Avenue and Locust Street.

Drumheller reported that police observed a fight in that area. As officers approached, Labella began cursing at police and began to flee. He was apprehended by police and admitted to police that he had been drinking, police said.

The citations were filed through District Magistrate Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel.

Garage windows smashed

RINGTOWN - State police at Frackville reported a 7-year-old Ringtown boy smashed three window panes out of a garage on St. Paul's Church property along East Main Street between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Sunday.

Police said church officials have declined to pursue charges against the 7-year-old, whose parents have agreed to pay for the damages.

Driver unhurt

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - James A. Hartman, 58, of Dornsife, escaped injury Saturday afternoon when his 1991 Ford Ranger truck lost traction on a slick section of Route 147, struck a steep embankment and flipped onto its driver's side.

Police said Hartman, who was wearing a seat belt, was traveling south when the 1:15 p.m. accident occurred.

Car hits tree

JACKSON TOWNSHIP - James C. Kahler, 33, of Trevorton, was cited by state police at Selinsgrove for driving too fast for road conditions after his 1992 Dodge Spirit crashed into a tree off New Berlin Highway on Saturday afternoon in this Snyder County township.

Police said Kahler was traveling north at 1 p.m. when he lost control of his car while negotiating a left curve. The auto then traveled into the oncoming lane, exited the road and struck a tree.

Kahler escaped injury.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Sharon Ann Weikel, 47, of 709 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 1, was cited for public drunkenness by city police Patrolman Mark Costa after she was found lying on the ground in the area of Eighth and Water streets at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

Accident under investigation

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police continue to look for the driver involved in an accident in Burnside at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers say that the vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Robert J. Shipe, of 511 S. Market St., Shamokin. was severely damaged in the wreck on Route 125 and had to be towed from the scene. The driver, who is unknown at this point, fled from the accident. Police say the accident is still under investigation.

One-vehicle accident

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - A Dalmatia man suffered a minor injury in a crash on Route 225 near Hepner Road in Lower Mahanoy Township at 9 p.m. Monday.

State police at Stonington report a 2011 Kia Soul, driven by Kevin M, Ray, 20, of Dalmatia, was traveling north on Route 225 when he lost control of the vehicle after it began to slide. The Soul traveled off the road and struck the front corner of a home.

The vehicle had to be towed from the area and Ray was treated at the scene. Police say he was cited for failure to drive a vehicle at a safe speed for conditions. Assisting police at the scene were the Hickory Corners Fire Department and the Americus Hose Company Ambulance.

- Michael P. Dembrosky, of Ashland, awarded $155.66 on March 13 in filing fees from Blake Boyer, of Ashland. A claim against Diane Boyer, by Dembrosky, was dismissed without prejudice. Dembrosky had originally sought $2,485.

- Marie Demko, of Wapwallopen, awarded $3,088.50 in court fees and rent in arrears on March 13 from Joseph Linn and Brenda Linn, of Locust Gap.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police say an unknown person slashed four tires on a 2010 Toyota Corolla, owned by Colby Schweitzer, 27, of Coal Township, while it was parked in the 800 block of Mulberry Street between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 644-0333.

Corruption of minors

MOUNT CARMEL - Joshua R. Potter, 20, of 439 Vine St., Sunbury, faces two separate sets of charges, including corruption of minors, following theft incidents in the borough on Dec. 22.

Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. David Donkochik reported in court documents that police investigated footprints found around several parked vehicles, indicating someone tried to gain entry.

Police then received a call from Amber Ennis, who said someone stole money from her Jeep.

Officers followed the prints to a vacant house where they found Potter and a 16-year-old male with several piles of change, a fake pistol and drug paraphernalia. They also found a backpack allegedly belonging to Potter that contained two knives, several hand tools and a computer. Police found a bottle of pills prescribed to Jerry Matzura, whose vehicle is one around which police observed footprints, according to the complaint.

Police charged Potter with corruption of minors, prohibited offensive weapons, possessing instruments of a crime, theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

Potter also faces charges of theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night and corruption of minors for allegedly entering a vehicle owned by Kimber Kauwell and removing approximately $15.

Potter was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, and placed in Northumberland County Prison on $25,000 total bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.

Avoiding cops

ATLAS - Anthony W. McGinley, 30, of 953 W. Third St., Williamsport, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of flight to avoid apprehension and loitering and prowling at night, stemming from an investigation into a Sept. 22 incident in Atlas.

Mount Carmel Township Police Kelly Campbell reported in court documents that McGinley was a passenger in a vehicle used to run from the police. Police said McGinley led officers on a foot pursuit throughout Atlas to avoid being picked up on an outstanding bench warrant.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, and released on $5,000 signature bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.

Simple assault

KULPMONT - Albert J. Goodlunas III, 38, of 553 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after allegedly striking Ronald Sabol several times in the 900 block of Chestnut Street at 5:36 p.m. March 12.

He was charged by Kulpmont Police Patrolman Patrick McAndrew. The complaint was filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is set for April 17.

Fraud

MOUNT CARMEL - Borough police charged Barry T. Adams, 30, of 111 N. Market St., Mount Carmel, with access device fraud, identity theft, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after a Jan. 1 incident at his residence.

Patrolman Matthew Dillman reported in court documents that Adams allegedly stole several pieces of information from David Urbanowicz to apply for a credit card in Urbanowicz's name and charged approximately $400 to the card.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.

Dealer arrested

KULPMONT - Edward Miller, 28, of 863 W. Spruce St., Apt. 2, Coal Township, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance following the investigation into a drug buy in Kulpmont on May 13, 2011.

According to Shamokin Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano in court documents, Miller sold a tablet of Ecstasy and a suboxone tablet for $40 to a confidential informant.

Miller was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones on Tuesday and placed in Northumberland County Prison on $75,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday before Jones.

Coins stolen

KULPMONT - Patrolman Shane Reamer charged Thomas J. Boylan, 18, of 827 Scott St., Kulpmont, with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after he allegedly removed an undetermined amount of coins from a change bottle owned by his mother at 8:35 p.m. Feb. 24.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is set for April 17.

Bad checks

MOUNT CARMEL - David Huber, 30, of 702 E. Fifth St., Mount Carmel, was charged with writing a bad check after allegedly issuing a check for $23,130.94 to Modern Hail Repair Inc. in October 2011 through a business he co-owns.

The charge was filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.

Rollover crash

DORNSIFE - A 46-year-old woman was injured Wednesday in a crash along Route 225 in Little Mahanoy Township.

Trooper Wendy Keefer, state police at Stonington, said Lori Dewald, of Trevorton, was driving a 2001 Nissan Xterra north at about 7 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and left the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll over.

Dewald was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

Keefer said charges are pending investigation.

Gun incident

SHAMOKIN - Robert J. Bresko, 43, of 926 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, has been charged by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a March 12 incident involving an AK-47 assault rifle in the parking lot of the Shamokin Post Office.

At about 10:15 p.m., police said two unidentified people were sitting in a car when Bresko pulled into the lot in a black 1998 Chevrolet Blazer and began staring at them. The victims said Bresko then asked, "Who drives that (expletive) white Camaro?"

When one of the occupants of the Camaro told Bresko not to worry about it, police said Bresko began to call him obscene names and asked him to stick his head into the vehicle before asking, "Who's (expletive) around now?"

One of the victims said Bresko then picked up an AK-47 assault rifle and placed it on the front seat. The victim told police Bresko appeared to be intoxicated.

After the victims provided police with a description of Bresko and his vehicle, Patrolman William Zalinski located Bresko's vehicle in the 500 block of North Shamokin Street and found the rifle lying on the seat/floor area.

Theft charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas Perez, 31, of 10 N. Orange St., Mount Carmel, will be charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with retail theft for allegedly stealing $59.53 in merchandise from Wal-Mart Supercenter at 1:15 p.m. March 13. He was apprehended by store security.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Paul J. Dombroski, 60, of 561 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, will be charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with driving under the influence after he was found inside his parked vehicle at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 3 in the middle of an off-ramp along Route 61 near the former Ames department store.

He was taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for evaluation and was released. Testing found his blood-alcohol level to be 0.376 percent, Lapotsky said.

Tires slashed

COAL TOWNSHIP - The tires of a 1998 Honda owned by Emily Barnhart, 30, of Coal Township, and parked in the 1200 block of West Spruce Street were slashed between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 644-0333.

Plate stolen

UPPER PAXTON TOWNSHIP - Kimberly Martz, of Dalmatia, reported to state police at Lykens that someone removed a license plate from her vehicle, while it was parked in the parking lot of the Weis Markets between 6 a.m. and noon Thursday. The license plate number is HKT-7318.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - Frances Heckmen, 56, of 96 W. Miner St., Coaldale, will be charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with harassment for allegedly making sexual advances and having unwanted physical contact on four different occasions between Jan. 29 and Feb. 6 with a Coal Township woman in her West Walnut Street home.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 17-year-old Shamokin male was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with disorderly conduct for allegedly using his cell phone Feb. 20 to video record another student in a bathroom stall inside Shamokin Area Middle/High School.

Flower theft

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating a theft that occurred between Feb. 16 and Saturday at the Northumberland Memorial Park, Route 61.

Police reported that someone removed an artificial flower arrangement from a mausoleum plot belonging to Donna E. Ross, 58, of Selinsgrove.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Frank Chartier, 44, of 1046 W. Arch St., Coal Township, was cited by Cpl. Bryan Primerano for retail theft for allegedly stealing a pair of underwear and two orange drinks from the Dollar General store on East Independence Street around 5:30 p.m. March 14.

Teen cited

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Scott Weaver has cited a 16-year-old city male for disorderly conduct for violating a city ordinance by allegedly instigating a fight with a 15-year-old Shamokin boy at 2:20 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Marshall Street.

Theft charges

SHAMOKIN - Megan Corbacio, 23, of 1520 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Jarrod Scandle with theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud relating to a Feb. 25 incident at 804 N. Washington St., Apt. 1.

Police said Corbacio is accused of stealing Jackie Rupert's child support card and using it to purchase $101.06 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart Supercenter in Coal Township.

Paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Jarrod Scandle charged Nathan P. Leonard, 40, of 219 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, with possession of drug paraphernalia involving a March 17 incident at his residence.

Police reported Leonard, who overdosed on heroin, was in possession of a syringe lid and a small piece of cotton. Leonard underwent treatment in the emergency room at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Parts stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - David Erdman, 40, and Valarie Dressler, 35, both of 334 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, were charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said Erdman and Dressler removed heavy machinery parts owned by Ken Snyder from the Big Mountain area March 14 and sold them for scrap at Jeff's Recycling.

Rear-end collision

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a rear-end collision involving a dump truck at the traffic light near the former Ames building Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. The front-right portion of a Waste Management truck struck the rear-left of a utility truck. No other information was available.

Trail camera stolen

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating the theft of a trail camera owned by Jeremy Wayne Cooper, 40, of North Front Street, Sunbury.

Police said the camera was stolen from the area of 277 Plum Creek Road at 5:30 p.m. March 20.

The thief fled the scene on foot toward Route 890.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call state police at 286-5601.

Drug paraphernalia

ELYSBURG - Cory Daniel Hine, 21, of 2103 Airport Road, Elysburg, was charged by Ralpho Township Cpl. Bryon Chowka with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Feb. 15 incident at Helfrick's Grove along Quarry Road.

Police said Hine possessed two mechanic sockets containing burnt marijuana residue.

DUI, drug offenses

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Two Mount Carmel residents have been charged in connection with a March 9 vehicle stop along Route 61 near Transtar in Strong.

Kelly S. Reigle, 40, of 128 S. Market St., was charged by Patrolman Kelly Campbell with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and a drug, operating a vehicle without proper inspection, a lighting violation and failure to drive in a single lane.

Matthew Steven Dietz, 22, of 123 E. Cherry St., a passenger in Reigle's vehicle, was charged by Campbell with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bad checks

MOUNT CARMEL - Mary Ellen Vincenzes, 51, of 138 S. Oak St., Apt. 2-A, was charged by Patrolman Kevin Katch with two counts each of theft by deception and bad checks.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Vincenzes is accused of issuing three bad checks totaling $490 to Matlow's Clothing Store on South Oak Street on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6.

Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of Oxycontin have been filed by Patrolman Matthew Filarski against Cassie Nichole Beers, 19, of New Columbia.

Police reported Beers stole approximately 20 Oxycontin pills belonging to Randy Swavely from his residence at 819 W. Sixth St. on Tuesday morning.

Recklessly endangering

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Ranshaw man has been charged with preventing people from stopping an assault outside Brady Fire Company in October that resulted in serious injuries to the victim.

Jack Zimmerman, 39, of 537 Main St., is charged by Patrolman Joshua Wynn with misdemeanors of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct. The offenses relate to a disturbance in which Richard "Ricky" J. Madden, 27, of 1000 W. Willow St., Coal Township, was charged with repeatedly punching and kicking Dale Wilk Jr., 31, of 2004 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, and slamming his head off the ground outside Brady Fire Company at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 20.

Wilk suffered bruises and scrapes on his head and face in the attack and required emergency room treatment.

The victim told police he has "blacked out" since the assault and continues to consult with a doctor.

Zimmerman is accused of blocking a doorway at the fire company, which prevented people from stopping the assault. Police said Zimmerman, who refused to move from the doorway, stated that Wilk deserved getting assaulted.

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here reported a gold 1999 Chrysler Cirrus owned by Samantha Rarick, of 1327 W. Arch St., Coal Township, that was reported stolen between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 7:15 a.m. Tuesday was recovered at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the first block of Center Street, Tharptown.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Diane Clark, 41, of 220 N. Vine St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Bryan Primerano for disorderly conduct for playing music or her television too loudly at 10:30 p.m. Monday, which annoyed her neighbors.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Julie Bielski, 48, of 124 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for retail theft for allegedly stealing a pack of Midol from Turkey Hill Minit Market on Lincoln Street at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police filed three citations against a township man following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at Mulberry and Locust streets.

Kevineric Eltringham, 29, of 1423 W. Arch St., was cited by Coal Township Deputy Chief Chris Williams with driving without a license, careless driving and driving a vehicle without certificate of inspection.

Police said Eltringham was turning a 1995 Jeep from Mulberry Street onto Locust Street when he struck a 2006 Kia driven by Joan Brown, of 1105 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township.

The Kia sustained minor damage. The Jeep, registered to Kinda Yost and Angel Sock, of 32 N. Anthracite St., Shamokin, was not damaged, police say.

No injuries were reported.

DUI charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Jennifer Lynn Wunder, 33, of 120 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Kevin Katch with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

The charges were filed in connection with a March 9 vehicle stop in the first block of North Oak Street.

Police reported Wunder had a blood-alcohol content of .154 percent.

Theft

MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman William Adamski has charged Richard W. Kramer, 35, of 231 S. Walnut St., Mount Carmel, with theft and receiving stolen property.

According to a criminal complaint, Kramer stole copper tubing, oil and wire valued at $297.82 from Visintainer's Motel at 50 W. Fourth St. between July 1 and Feb. 8.

Provides pot

MOUNT CARMEL - Peter A. Plum III, 44, of 143 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Justin Stelma with recklessly endangering another person and corruption of minors relating to a March 7 incident in the 100 block of West Fourth Street.

Police said Plum provided marijuana to a 14-year-old female who became sick and confused and experienced extreme headaches. The teen underwent emergency room treatment at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Steals money

SHAMOKIN - Kristin Denelle Blass, 30, of 534 N. Market St., Apt. 6, Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with theft for allegedly stealing $20 from a purse owned by Ardella Dobson.

Police said the money was stolen March 13 from Dobson's Carpet Store.

Blass also was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with five counts of retail theft for allegedly removing $143.99 in various merchandise from the Dollar General Store, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Royer's Crafts, Ye-Old Primitive Crafts and Puff's Discount Cigarette Store on March 22.

DUI offenses

SHAMOKIN - Kimberly E. Readinger, 26, of Northumberland, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Readinger, who had a blood-alcohol content of .260 percent, was charged in connection with a March 9 incident in the 300 block of West Spruce Street.

Drug charges

COAL TOWNSHIP - Winter Ivory Marie Fann, 21, of Wilkes-Barre, has been charged by Trooper James Yankovich of state police at Stonington with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a March 9 incident in the parking lot at SCI-Coal Township.
