Three plead guilty in separate cases

SHAMOKIN - Three defendants pleaded guilty to criminal charges Tuesday and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay fines and costs.

- Michael J. Shingara, 21, of 555 N. Second St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.

He was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II after being found with three syringes March 2 at his residence.

- Madlyne Kozlowski, 18, of 1420 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.

Kozlowski was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Jason Adams with possessing a syringe and five empty heroin packets in the 900 block of West Mulberry Street March 9.

- Dane Earl Albertson, 28, of 3 Albertson Road, Orangeville, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs. An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.

Albertson was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chad Yoder with striking his girlfriend in the mouth, causing her lip to swell and bleed, April 2 at 217 Third St., Ranshaw.

Albertson also smashed the phone of another woman at the scene to prevent her from calling police, then left the residence before officers arrived, Yoder said.
