Vandalism

COAL TOWNSHIP - Richard Madden, 29, of 1223 Pulaski Ave., reported his 2008 black Ford Mustang vehicle was vandalized while it was parked just near his residence sometime between Saturday and Sunday.

Police said the damage consisted of deep scratches all over the vehicle.

Crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police said Jessica Hubler, 66, of 211 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, lost control of her vehicle due to icy roads and struck a guard rail on Route 61 near the Shamokin/Coal Township boundary line at around 8 a.m. Saturday.

Hubler was uninjured but the vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene, police said.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police said a window was broken on a garage at 909 W. Holly St. sometime between March 1 and 6 p.m. Friday.

Two clubs cited

MONTOURSVILLE - Two local organizations were cited Thursday for liquor law violations by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

The Independence Fire Association of Shamokin, Market and Arch streets, Shamokin, were cited for a gambling violation, either posessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on a licensed premises. The offense occurred Jan. 31.

The Sons of Poland Beneficial Society, 21 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, was cited Jan. 25 for sales to non-members, failure to require patrons to vacate the bar area later than a half-hour after the required time that serving should stop, permitting patrons to possess and removed alcohol from the bar after 3:30 a.m., and selling or giving liquor or brewed beverages between 3 and 7 a.m.

The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. The judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
