Hit and run

RANSHAW - Coal Township police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the 100 block of Main Street at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The hit-and-run vehicle, which struck a parked van owned by Laura Whitman, of Ranshaw, is red and should have damage to its passenger side front end. It has no side view mirror or front hubcap. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Main Street.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jason Bower, 37, of 6 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by Patrolman Chad Yoder with retail theft for allegedly stealing merchandise valued at $590.18 from Walmart Supercenter on Route 61 Aug. 24.

Theft charge

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Shane Mowery has charged Brenda Jane Snyder, 49, of 1123 W. Water St., Coal Township, with retail theft for allegedly removing two boxes of hair products valued at $10.49 each from CVS Pharmacy, 12 W. Independence St., Jan. 29.
