Scattering rubbish

COAL TOWNSHIP - John Shoup, 51, of 115 Webster St., Ranshaw, was cited by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky for scattering rubbish for allegedly dumping several bags of household trash in a mountain area behind Coal Run on land owned by Kenneth Snyder, 36, of 5351 Route 61, Paxinos.

Police said Shoup allegedly dumped the trash between Feb. 14 and March 3.

Unknown vehicle damages lawn

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here reported a vehicle damaged a large section of lawn at the gazebo on Tioga Street by driving onto the grass and over to a nearby playground between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Coal Township police at 644-0333.

Glass broken

COAL TOWNSHIP - Lee Conrad, 34, of Conrad Trucking on Fifth Street, reported someone broke a pane of glass on a garage door at his business between 7 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Friday.

The cost to repair the glass is $30.

Vehicle damage

COAL TOWNSHIP - Nicholas Graboski, 34, of 1025 W. Montgomery St., Coal Township, reported someone damaged his 2008 Ford while it was parked near his residence between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 3 p.m. Thursday.

The damage consisted of a dent in the lower portion of the trunk.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call Coal Township police at 644-0333.

DUI

JACKSON TOWNSHIP - Joseph Allen Tomcavage, of 159 E. Old Reading Road, Catawissa, was charged by state police at Lykens with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Feb. 9 traffic stop on Route 225 near Lake Tobias.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Jason J. McCormick, 33, of 830 Lott St., Coal Township, has been charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of careless driving involving a Feb. 14 accident at Lincoln and Grant streets.

Police reported McCormick had a blood-alcohol content of .233 percent.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Jarrod Scandle has charged Robert F. Ferrick, 50, of 25 N. Second St., Shamokin, with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia involving a Feb. 14 incident in the first block of North Second Street.

Police reported Ferrick had a blood-alcohol content of .219 percent, had marijuana in his blood system and possessed a copper pipe containing marijuana residue when he was found slumped behind the steering wheel of his vehicle with the engine revving.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Michael J. Shingara, 21, of 555 N. Second St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of drug paraphernalia after being found with three syringes March 2 at his residence.

Receiving stolen property

SHAMOKIN - Casey D. Raab, 25, of 1440 Hemlock St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with receiving stolen property.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Raab was caught trying to sell rings to Ye Olde Coin Shop that he knew had been stolen from a home along Old Reading Road in Paxinos.

Police said the offense occurred Feb. 10.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Christina J. Hepner, 27, of 19 E. Independence St., Apt. 7, Shamokin, with possession of drug paraphernalia after being found with a syringe March 4 during a search at Shamokin Police Station.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman William Zalinski has charged Bernadette Wysock, 63, of 330 S. Market St., Shamokin, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving relating to a Feb. 22 accident in the first block of East Lincoln Street.

Police reported Wysock had a blood-alcohol content of .257 percent, a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana and a metal smoking pipe.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Matthew Kleman, 18, of 614 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Joshua Wynn with criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a car parked outside 1887 Trevorton Road on March 9.

Police reported Kleman intentionally kicked the rear driver's side door of a 2012 Nissan Rogue, causing $1,113 in damage.

Hit-and-run charges

COAL TOWNSHIP - Wayne D. Thompson, 27, of 532 Edison Ave., Sunbury, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle or property, failure to give information or render aid at an accident, failure to give immediate notice of an accident to police, driving under suspension and failure to stop for a red light relating to a Feb. 22 hit-and-run accident at Hospital Road and Route 61 in Tharptown.

Drug paraphernalia

COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Jason Adams has charged Madlyne Kozlowski, 18, of 1420 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported Kozlowski is accused of possessing a syringe and five empty heroin packets in the 900 block of West Mulberry Street on March 9.

Marijuana charge

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Scott Weaver has charged Zolange Otero, 30, of 231 W. Willow St., Shamokin, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a March 11 incident at her home.

Police said Otero possessed marijuana, a blunt and rolling papers.
