Purse stolen

MONROE TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove reported a white female stole a purse belonging to Mary DeWire, 71, of Selinsgrove, from her shopping cart at Giant Markets in Monroe Market Place at about 10:40 a.m. Thursday before fleeing the store in a dark red Chevrolet HHR.

Retail theft

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Cameron Spaid, 19, of Mifflinburg, was charged by state police at Selinsgrove with retail theft for allegedly stealing merchandise from Kohl's Department Store in Monroe Market Place at 1:30 p.m. March 9.

Injuries updated

BLOOMSBURG - State police at Bloomsburg reported a 17-year-old Shamokin male, who was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck that crashed into a wooded area Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Mid-Valley Highway and Route 42 in Aristes, and a 14-year-old female passenger from Mount Carmel suffered moderate injuries in the accident.

Police said a 16-year-old female passenger from Coal Township suffered serious injuries, while a 15-year-old male passenger from Coal Township suffered minor injuries.

All four teens were transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, but their conditions couldn't be obtained because their identities were not revealed by state police in accordance with their policy not to release the names of juveniles involved in accidents or other incidents.
