Drug charge
COAL TOWNSHIP - Prenden Heintzelman, 27, of Northumberland, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with possession of drug paraphernalia involving an incident at Walmart Supercenter at about 11 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Heintzelman was found unresponsive inside a rest room and had to be treated by emergency medical personnel. Heintzelman was later found to be in possession of small packets containing heroin residue. A syringe and spoon also were found in a trash bin in the rest room, police said.
Retail thefts
COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Matthew Hashuga has cited Kathy Rosetta, 50, of Mount Carmel; Nikki Leininger, 29, of Tremont, and John May, 36, of Shamokin, for retail theft involving separate incidents at Walmart Supercenter.
Rosetta is accused of stealing $94.61 in merchandise Dec. 3.
Leininger and May are charged with stealing merchandise valued at $26.91 and $143.63, respectively, Dec. 7.
Theft of services
SHAMOKIN - Debra Campbell, 56, of 121 W. Montgomery St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for theft of services relating to a Dec. 16 incident in the 600 block of Packer Street.
Police said Campbell allowed her garbage to be dumped into a Dumpster owned by Angel Martinez, of 249 S. Vine St., Shamokin.
Condition improves
DANVILLE - The condition of Brittany Shoffler, 24, of Coal Township, who was injured in a rollover crash near Aristes Jan. 8, has been upgraded from critical to serious at Geisinger Medical Center.
Shoffler was ejected from her 2008 BMW 328XI after losing control on a patch of ice on Aristes-Ringtown Road, east of Route 42.
Drug items found
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported drug paraphernalia was found by emergency medical personnel in Shikellamy State Park at 6:15 p.m. Saturday after they responded to treat an unresponsive male.
