Vehicle rolls into ditch
ELYSBURG - A 16-year-old Elysburg driver escaped serious injury in a crash Friday night when the vehicle he was driving went out of control on a snow-covered rural road and flipped onto its roof in a drainage ditch.
Ralpho Township police said the teen, Dustin Chaundy, was taken to an area hospital by his parents for minor injuries following the 11:59 p.m. crash.
Police said the vehicle was traveling south on Jepko Road, which parallels Knoebel's Three-Ponds Golf Course between Route 487 and Happy Valley Road, during a heavy snow squall. The vehicle went into a skid on a lefthand curve and rolled as it hit the ditch on the right side of the road.
Responding with police were Elysburg firefighters and ambulance personnel.
