Theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Police are asking for information in locating the person responsible for stealing items valued at $1,900 from a township resident.
Coal Township Police Officer Chad Yoder said Anthony Nestico, 52, of Coal Township, reported an unknown person entered his property and stole a MS 660 Stihl Magnum chainsaw valued at $1,200 and approximately 50 to 100 feet of copper wire valued at $700 around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Anyone with information regarding the stolen items is asked to contact Coal Township police at 570-644-0333.
Hit and run
COAL TOWNSHIP - Kevin J. Glover, 41, of 1026 E. Chestnut St., was charged by Coal Township police in relation to a hit-and-run crash at 2:50 p.m. Dec. 24 at the Plaza at Coal Township on Route 61.
Police said Glover fled after crashing a 2011 Ford Focus into the side of a 1996 Subaru Impreza driven by Jose Santiago, 54, of 1219 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township.
He was charged with failing to stop and give information and render aid at an accident scene, driving with an expired license and driving without insurance.
Tower trouble
SELINSGROVE - Four young men face felony charges after disrupting an aviation radar when they entered a Federal Aviation Administration navigation tower in Penn Township, Snyder County.
Kevin C. Herman, 19, of Winfield; Alex T. Moyer, 20, of Selinsgrove; Michael J. Ede, 20, of Winfield, and Brett H. Eyster, 20, of Selinsgrove, were all charged by Trooper Nathan Wenzel, state police at Selinsgrove, with felony counts of burglary, causing or risking catastrophe, criminal mischief and criminal trespass. They also face a summary count of underage drinking.
Police said the four entered the tower along Air Tower Road, southwest of Selinsgrove, about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, setting off an alarm.
Guilty plea
SHAMOKIN - Dennis Hynes Jr., 23, of Coal Township, pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct. He was sentenced by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to one year probation and a $200 fine, plus $165 in court costs. The charge was filed Aug. 27 by Coal Township Patrolman Chad Yoder.
Retail theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Karen M. Brandau, 51, of 1332 Poplar St., Kulpmont, is charged by Coal Township Patrolman Edward Purcell Jr. with retail theft. Brandau is accused of stealing $47.58 in merchandise Dec. 17 from Walmart Supercenter, Route 61.
Skips fingerprints
MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Township police said two men violated court orders by failing to appear for fingerprinting.
Tanner A. Hess, 19, of 229 W. Girard St., Mount Carmel, and Jeremy D. Evans, 28, of 113 Millville Road, Bloomsburg, are each charged by Patrolman Kelly Campbell with default in required appearance.
Hess was to appear between June 23 and July 22 stemming from an arrest on charges of public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia. Evans was to appear between Aug. 19 and Sept. 23 stemming from an arrest on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.
