Deer causes crash
GORDON - A Mount Carmel man escaped injury when his vehicle crashed into a ditch early Tuesday along Airport Road in Barry Township, Schuylkill County.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. about 1 1/2 miles east of Route 901. Trooper Eric Reber of the Schuylkill Haven station said Jarrod J. Taylor, 32, was driving a 2002 Saturn SL1 north near Rice Road when he swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of the vehicle. It traveled along the berm, striking a mailbox and a road sign before stopping in a ditch.
Taylor was wearing a seat belt, police said. He was cited for driving without a valid inspection, according to an online records search. Reber said in a press release that Taylor would also be cited for roadways laned for traffic.
