Truck struck

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police report a 1999 Buick, driven north on Sherman Street by Philip Stank, 75, of 1710 E. Webster St., crashed into a legally parked Ford pickup truck about 7:40 a.m. Monday. The accident occurred near Hemlock Street. Christopher Petrovich, 52, of 53 Sherman St., owns the pickup, which sustained damage to the tire area of its passenger side. Stank's vehicle sustained minor damage to its passenger-side front bumper, quarter panel and tire.

Minor injuries

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two juveniles were injured in a rear-end crash Saturday on the Cameron Bridge, township police report.

Charles Furdalewicz, of Coal Township, was driving a 2008 Ford sedan that rear-ended a 2002 Volkswagen sedan stopped at a red light about 8:50 p.m. Karen Smeltz, of Millersburg, was driving the Volkswagen, in which the juveniles were passengers. They were treated for minor injuries at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Cpl. Terry Ketchem said.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

Assisting were Coal Township Fire Department, Coal Township Patrolman David Sage and Shamokin Patrolman Nathan Rhodes.

Jeep scratched

COAL TOWNSHIP - William Bressi Jr., 39, of 856 W. Spruce St., told township police his 2010 Jeep was scratched early Friday while parked in front of his home. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jeffrey Brennan at 570-644-0333.

Rear-ended

HUMMELS WHARF - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Monroe Township.

Trooper William Gangloff of the Selinsgrove station reported George I. Botticher, 23, of Selinsgrove, was driving a 2012 Jeep Patriot south on Park Road about 12:45 p.m. when the Jeep rear-ended a 2007 Volvo XC70 driven by Jayme K. Fedder, 37, of Sunbury. Police said Fedder was stopped at a stop sign with the vehicle's turn signal activated while she waited to turn left onto Pine Road. Both motorists were wearing seat belts.

Botticher was issued a summary traffic citation for driving at an unsafe speed.

Retail theft

HUMMELS WHARF - An unidentified 14-year-old Kulpmont girl was charged with retail theft by Trooper John D.J. Medrano of the Selinsgrove station. The teen allegedly stole earrings about 4:50 p.m. Sunday from Claire's Boutique in the Susquehanna Valley Mall.
