Crash
FRACKVILLE - State police are searching for the driver of a white Honda Accord manufactured between 2003 and 2008 with damage or sea foam green paint transfer near its rear wheel after a hit and run at 6:55 p.m. Saturday in Butler Township.
Police said the driver of the white Honda was traveling south in the passing lane on I-81 at mile 117.3 and cut into the right lane, striking a Ford Escape driven by Tricia K. Zimmerman, 22, of Pitman. The impact caused Zimmerman's vehicle to spin, slide off the road and strike a jersey barrier separating the southbound shoulder from a roadside rock embankment. Zimmerman's vehicle then became airborne for approximately 35 feet, vaulted over the barrier and landed on the embankment.
The driver of the white Honda fled the scene south on I-81.
Neither Zimmerman nor her passenger, Charles A. Zimmerman, 34, of Pitman, were injured, but the Escape was severely damaged and required towing.
